Park Sihoo 41st birthday event 2019

Where I come from, we can be very informal, whether in terms of the way we dress, how we interact with people or how we address others. We also like to use acronyms or an abbreviation using the first letter of each word. Shortcut so to speak.

Back in the old days, international fans used to affectionately call our favorite actor Park Sihoo-ssi, “PSH”, but mostly in private. In public, we consciously used his full name to promote the name so that people beyond fans, can learn his name and recognize it. We still do it today. PSH in private and Park Sihoo-ssi or Sihoo-ssi in public.

During his recent birthday party, I was pleasantly surprised to see the huge and bold letters “PSH” being used as the main decor. Great to know he or his Japan Official Fan Club (JOFC) now feels a certain level of comfort using this acronym. 

So much easier to call our favorite man by his initials then his full name!

在我老家，无论是在穿着，如何与人交流或如何称呼对方，我们都非常随意，也喜欢用短称acronym，就使用每个单词的第一个字母。

在过去，国际粉丝们经常亲切地称我们最喜欢的演员施厚君为PSH，但大部分是在私底下。在公共场合，我们有意使用他的全名去推广他给粉丝们之外的人认识。直到如今都仍然这么做。 PSH在私底下，朴施厚或施厚君在公开场合。

Often times, a thing of beauty is best enjoyed in the quiet.

Like the dashing Park Sihoo-ssi, I like the quiet enjoyment of him from afar. No need to scramble to keep up his every step, only follow whatever is official. No need to get the awkwardness of tailing him and then to be discovered. Best to leave him in peace and to rest. And let yourself get a real surprise when he is ready to reveal his next big move!

Now, that his latest drama “Babel” has gone off air and his birthday celebrated let us sit back and enjoy our man quietly.

Last night during his 41st birthday party, Park Sihoo-ssi wrote and read out a letter to his fans. As always, the sincerity of our birthday boy was most evident in the words he wrote and how he presented it to his fans in the audience.

He centred the letter around the party’s theme – colourful. Colours being symbols of how he felt about the different aspects of his thoughts and how grateful he was to his fans.

昨晚，在他的41岁生日派对上，施厚君为他的粉丝们写了，并阅读了一封信。 就如既往，寿星的诚意在他所写的文字中被表达了出来。

여러분 안녕하세요. 박시후입니다.

오늘 제 생일을 축하해주시기 위해 이자리에 함께 해 주신 여러분들. 가까운 거리가 아닌데도 이렇게 매년 축하를 위해 모여주셔서 감사 드립니다.

올해는 여러분들과 저의 서로를 생각하는 마음들을 담아 여러 가지 예쁜 색들로 표현해 봤는데 어떠셨는지요?

맑은 날에는 반짝이는 햇살처럼, 비 오는 날에는 땅을 촉촉하게 적시는 빗줄기처럼 당연하다는 듯이 저에게 보내주시는 애정을 분홍색으로…

만날 때 마다 얼굴에 한 가득 기쁨을 담고 보여주시는 미소들…내일에 대한 희망을 기대하게 하는 여러분들의 미소를 노랑색으로 표현을 해 보았습니다.

그런 여러분들의 애정과 미소가….저의 마음 깊은 곳에 새겨져 있어서, 어떤 상황에서도 여러분들과 이어져 있다는, 고요하고 견고한 마음을 파랑으로 표현하였습니다.

여러분들과 이어져 있다는 마음이, 얼마나 저에게 안정감을 주는지…여러분들은 알고 계실까요? 매일매일 말로 전하지 못하는 이 마음을 이렇게나마 전해보고자 초록으로 표현하였습니다.

저 혼자의 힘으로는 오늘 여기까지 올 수 없었을 거라고 생각합니다. 여러분들께 감사의 마음을 표현하려면열심히 작품 활동으로 보답할 수 밖에 없다고 생각해서…

항상 뜨거운 열정으로 연기에 임해왔습니다. 그런 저의 모습을 빨강으로 표현하였는데요. 분명, 여러분들의 뜨거운 사랑 역시 정열의 빨강이겠죠? 

지금까지 함께 해 왔던 것처럼 앞으로도 항상 여러분들과 나누었던 시선, 사랑이 담긴 말 한마디 한마디가 파란 하늘에 걸린 무지개처럼 너무나 아름답고 소중하기만 합니다.

To everyone who are here to celebrate my birthday, I thank you for gathering together every year to celebrate, even though it is a long distance to travel here.

This year I have expressed our hearts using various pretty colors. How do you find it?

Like the glittering sunlight on a clear day, like the rain slightly moistening the grounds on a rainy day, pink is the colour of your affection for me, naturally…

Smiles are what you show me whenever you meet me. With your smiles, you give me hope for tomorrow. I express it in yellow.

Because your love and smiles are engraved deep inside of my heart, I am always connected with all of you, so I express my calm and a solid mind in blue.

The feeling that I am connected with you gives me a sense of security. Do you know that? I express it in green to pass on my appreciation, something which I cannot say every day.

I do not think I will be able to be where I am today, if I were to do it alone. If I want to express my thanks to all of you, there is only one way. That is with my acting. So I have always acted with passion. Acting, I express in red. Definitely, your love will be a passionate red, right?

The eye contacts I shared with you and the lovely words are like a rainbow in the blue sky. It is so beautiful and precious being together. With your love, I want to show you the charismatic side of actor Park Sihoo through my acting.
