Warning! Very long article!
This article was written after a long day and in the wee hours of this morning, so I apologise for any mistake, typo or grammatical error. Due to the tight timing and I badly needed my sleep, I did not have time to do the Chinese translation. My sincere apologies. Let’s see if I can manage this later. As no photography or video filming was allowed during the event I have no photos of the actual event to show.
Yesterday’s event was the third Park Sihoo-ssi’s birthday celebration I have participated in. All of them included visits to his ancestral home in Buyeo. It was the second time the evening celebration was held in Buyeo at the Lotte Buyeo Resort. While I had inertia about going to Buyeo again, yesterday turned out to be a most enchanting day. A day well spent in Flower Country with our Flower Prince, Park Sihoo-ssi.
We started early, setting off from Seoul at around 8.45 am to head to Buyeo. There were 7 bus loads of around 280 fans from Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and me, from Singapore.
Along the way to Park Sihoo-ssi’s ancestral home, we had a rest and brunch stop. Next up was Seodong Park and Gongnamji Pond where we saw new spring flowers starting to bloom. Beautiful, pure white magnolias. Budding cherry blossoms. Fiery red, pink camellias. Gorgeous green weeping willows. They all added to the charm and beauty of this Flower Country, even though the blossoms were just at the very beginning of the season.
We took in the history of Buyeo with its heritage as part of the Baekje Kingdom when we visited the Buyeo National Museum. Its rich culture and history were on display as seen through the old relics that had been unearthed and exhibited at the museum.
Then it was off to Park Sihoo-ssi’s ancestral home for a visit. As usual, we were most warmly welcomed by Park Sihoo-ssi’s father and his brother. His grandmother also came out later to join us. It was amazing to see this pint size little lady who has brought up such a strong and healthy son and in turn grandsons. They must make her proud. Our sisters at Sihoorang, Park Sihoo’s Korean Official Fan Club had decorated his ancestral home with bright and cheery sculptured balloons, showing their love for this man. Everyone wanted photos with Father Park, Brother Park and Grandmother Park and even their pet dog Jindoori! It was a nice day to spend in this rather remote, unspoilt and enchanting country home.
And Park Sihoo-ssi’s new house? Is it ready? Well, you heard me report what he said in Odaiba…it will be ready next month! Hahaha! Sorry, the family had requested for no photography of the new house, so of course I respected that and did not take any!
We then adjourned to the Lotte Buyeo Resort to check-in, freshen up before heading for dinner and the most enchanting evening!
Lights dimmed and the regular charming lady emcee, Kim Tei, came on stage to make her introductions and a brief rundown of the event. Unfortunately, not understanding a word of Japanese or Korean, I can only share what I could discern of the evening or from whatever help I could from chicken and duck talk. So please pardon me if I have interpreted anything incorrectly! My apologies in advance!
This being our Flower Prince’s 39th birthday celebration, the emcee prompted us to rehearse and practise singing a birthday song for Park Sihoo-ssi in Korean. Once she was satisfied, it was cut to a video of photos of Park Sihoo-ssi’s past birthday celebrations, to the tune of his “Shampoo” song.
The emcee came on stage and welcomed everyone for the Park Sihoo-ssi Birthday Tour 2017 and then all attention were focused at the back of the room. Out came our gorgeous Flower Prince, in the pink! Pink jacket and trousers complemented by a white tee-shirt with what looked like light texture of string prints. The overall look enhanced by white pocket squares with black trimmings and white leather shoes with beige lined seams. He was the most enchanting vision of a tall, fair and handsome prince!
And to add to the enchanting occassion, he personally went from table to table to present to each of his princesses a light pink rose…so romantic! And our prince charming did not forget to present one to emcee Kim Tei too! Our very thoughtful Flower Prince!
He thanked his princesses for coming from afar to Buyeo to celebrate his birthday with him. I could discern something about flowers in Korean, so I presumed he was talking about Flower Country and the theme for the evening.
Then the lighted birthday cake was wheeled in, we sang to our prince and wished him a happy birthday. Park Sihoo-ssi was asked to make a birthday wish. When asked what it was, he said it was a secret, and so it shall be but we all hope that whatever he wished for would come true! He then cut the cake with a long knife, making short work of three layers of the beautiful cake in one slice…how mighty, our prince! And all this culminated in song about “congratulations and celebration…” and the burst of confetti and smoke shots.
We love you Park Sihoo-ssi, mani mani 많이 많이! And he reciprocated by making us a big love sign and telling us he loves us back!
The emcee asked him what he did after our last meeting in Odaiba. He had been spending time skiing! And apparently he just learnt how to ski and simply loved it. He had been on skiing trips twice or was it more? I can’t tell, but each time he spent around two weeks at the ski resort. Wah! A video clip was shown of our Prince doing a great job skiing down a steep and winding ski slope! Perfect! There was some mention of Sapporo which I didn’t understand. I just assumed this was where he would like to go skiing next.
Park Sihoo-ssi had also been indulging in other sports like tennis and golf. He likes skiing best or is it the current flavour of the month since this is the season?
While Park Sihoo exited for a change of outfit, a video came on. We saw an animated fairy tale Flower Prince and his enchanting castle. He had been pondering over what he should do to make his princesses happy. Whether it should be singing, dancing or what? As he planned, his rascal cats, Jami and Dami were right beside their dear old dad keeping him company and maybe giving him pointers here and there about what to do? Kekeke! 🙂 🙂 🙂
The emcee shared a slide of a thinking brain and shared that our Prince had been hard at work. He had been working on a mission to make his princesses happy. So we shouted out loud to welcome our Prince again.
And in he came, dressed in the most majestic and princely outfit. Dark blue tailcoat and matching trousers with pink and gold epaulettes on the shoulders, large gold buttons, sleeve insignia in broad gold band and red trims and a badge of honor held up by gold braids. A black velvet sash at the waist added to the overall magnificent effect.
Our prince showed his princely gestures of how a bow should be executed and how a gentleman should keep his hand behind his back in courtly gesture while in conversation. The emcee asked him pointed questions about the habits of the Flower Prince. These were what I gathered the questions were and how he answered them. No guarantee on whether these were right or wrong, ok? Just to share a gist of what transpired 🙂
How often does he shower? Generally once a day though sometimes he skipped if he were too tired. What sort of clothes does our Flower Prince like to wear? Casual tees and jeans are his favorite. How many times does he look at himself in the mirror every day? Uncountable times! He would definitely look at himself in the mirror when he goes to the washroom! How confident is he with his sports? Very confident! And he did a pose of a golf shot which drew the emcee to tease him about the missed shot in his Instagram video! Hahaha! When he was in high school, did a girl ever tell him she liked him? Well, he attended a boys school, so no girls, though he understood from friends that many girls from other schools thought him handsome and took note of his shoe box number! Sorry, don’t know anything about this shoe box association and what it means…
Then it was game time and Park Sihoo-ssi chose six tables to play games with by aiming his bow and arrow and shooting numbers on a target on a lamp post. The selected tables played games of “five stones”, catch the ball on a hoop, hit a pom-pom with a stick and not let it drop, juggling balls, balancing a water bottle and passing ping pong balls without dropping. Winning tables got hugs or took group photos with Park Sihoo-ssi.
This was followed by an XOXO game around the symbolism of flowers, from the lotus, to cherry blossoms to clovers etc. The final winner got to dance with our prince. And she got swung and hugged as well. Now, that was a giddy princess afterwards, if I ever saw one! She was most enchanted! When asked which flower was his favorite, Park Sihoo-ssi answered that it was called “Everyone”, that is all of his princesses!
Park Sihoo-ssi then shared a message thanking his princesses for coming to his birthday celebration in Flower Country. He had been through a lot, experienced a lot – of learning, going through bad experiences, immense sadness and encountering a lot of hurdles. His princesses have been there through thick and thin, giving him strong support that helped him to have the courage to endeavour. For this, he is most grateful. He dedicated his new song “Don’t leave” to his princesses. A song that he sang with the most heartfelt emotions as he called out to his princesses. A video was shown of how hard he had practiced to perfect this song. Since I cannot take any photo or show the video, I am sharing Big Win’s version of the song again.

To thank his princesses, our Prince then gave his princesses their most coveted gift – one-on-one photos taken with each and every one of his Princesses! And our Prince was most enchanting and charming in his striking leaf green jacket and matching trousers, complemented by his white tee and white leather shoes. I bet every one of his princesses was over the moon last night. They would take this precious gift with them and all those beautiful memories of a most enchanting evening and treasure every moment!
I love my photo! Though I wish my Flower Prince was not confused by where this princess comes from! Not Hong Kong but Singapore, my dear Prince Park Sihoo-ssi! Or maybe I confused you with my dual country presence. Just to clarify, I was born and bred in Singapore but live and work in Hong Kong! Got it now? Hahaha!
But what we Princesses wanted most, unfortunately we still have to wait! No announcement of his new drama…sorry! Let us be patient a little longer! And in the meantime, savor every wonderful memory of our most enchanting day!

Thanks for the recap of the most wonderful events ever, I’m sure there are ton of hard core fan from the State couldn’t wait to meet him too. Hope he has something down the line to make living. Wishing him the best!
Hahaha Nance! But the last time he said ” I know.” When you said “Singapor딑. Bravo Bravo Bravo and many thumbs up. Most appreciative that you even included Jindori’s photo, isn’t he handsome…..Will write more later.
I am back from running about. And I read your article again before I comment here. Earlier was a very quick read and my earlier comment was the 1st thing I want to say to Nance when I finished reading it. Needless to say we sort of come to expect nothing less than what Nance has told us all the details of the meet event, everything so perfect and beautiful, flower choice and colour and theme so beautifully provide the backdrop, PSH’s attire, birthday cake etc. I shan’t go into talking about all these frills as I know Stefania Lupu will be able to re account all these beauties in her beautiful chosen words and quotes to reinterate the memory of last night. Here I only have one thing that striked me deep and emotional : that when he posted the Don’t Leave song, Nance in your article we were guessing did that mean he was a bit sad. As it now reveals, in his last night message as you reported about ” immense sadness, hurdles, difficulties”……and I feel rather heavy and sad for him. Everything else about the night event seems to blur out in my view and mind and my heart. My whole heart and mind just stop here and feel deeply for him. The poor chap expressly conveyed of such difficult times of his life (we know he had been through even harder times before, but still to hear it from him last night, that the tide is still rough, his path has been rather turbulent lately, though we more or less guessed it, but now, it’s revealed from the horse’s mouth…..reason everything else pail compare to this one and only thing revealed last night. Nevertheless, Together we shall help him to stand tall and strong! Sihoossi, FIGHTING!
Thanks for the report! A great event, unfortunately, I did not participate. I hope we can see pictures from our pretty prince! 🙂 <3
thanks you so much ! I waiting for yours pictures with impatience. have rest ! and try to keep the dream you make yesteday, awake for a long time
So very precious! Thank you for the descriptive report, I am able to imagine with every word– but of course, my imagination would not compare to the live experience! Still, I can feel the love and warmth on this special day. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Happy birthday to our dearest Prince. 🎂💜
Welcome Songielove! It is so good to have you back and that you still remember our dearest Prince! Please continue to love him marni, marni!
Indeed a very enchanting day, PSH’s celebration birthday, not only for those who attended this event, but for all of us who have read this excellent and detailed report . Thanks from our heart to Nance, who has made us happy too. As oficially today , the 3rd April, is PSH’s birthday, this day is his first day of another 365 day journey around the sun. Enjoy the trip Park Si Hoo! As you say Nance, being the third PSH’s birthday celebration you’ve participated in, this has been your great opportunity to meet him in person on his very special day, that reminds him that his life is wonderful, that people , who love him, make him feel special on his own day, who make him feel how strong and special he is, because this day is also special for all people around him, from the moment he has come into their life making it beautiful too. Reading your report I’ve been enchanted , as if I’ve been there . No photos? Doesn’t matter , as we can imagine the exciting and magic moments. And out of these wonderful moments , I’ll mention two. The first is refering to his outfits he wore at the party As usual he has distinguished himself , first one being the pink outfit. And I wonder if he knows that his element colour is Pink. What an enchating Flower Prince must have been in pink.! But not to diminish the beauty of his other outfit : the dark blue tailcoat , with golden epaulettes on shoulder, gold buttons, a.so. I imagine how chic looked. The Flower Prince, the most perfect dressed person, revealing his personality. Beautiful, splendid, even invincible. The second aspect I”m refering to is his message addressed to his guests, thanking them for coming to celebrate together his Great Day of His Life. Although a bit of sadness, a twinge of sorrow has been felt in his message, I think all his fans , about 28o, who came there , tried to make him understand their feelings, their support and love. As “Love is holy” [W. Shakespeare] Yes , his fans’ love is holy! Dear Sihoo-ssi , on this wonderful day I wish you that the year ahead should be filled with the warmth of sunshine , the happiness of smiles, the sounds of laughter, the feeling of love , and the sharing of good cheer! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARK SI HOO!
Dear Stefania, just as beautifully as Nance has accounted the event, yours is the rave review as we often say how the media would write about an event the next day. Yours is simply most enthusiatiscally written. 🙂
Dear Chai Hua, thanks for your kindness, but all my sisters have enthusiastically expressed their admiration and love for PSH. And I’ll paraphrase Oscar Wild’s words:” Behind every exquisite comment that has been written, there is someone magnificent. And he is PSH.”
💪💪💪👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you Nance for report on the spot. As always, you have made us to feel the atmosphere of the event, through your articles detailed and enthusiastic. Indeed, an enchanting day yesterday! An enchanting day today!
I am happy because I feel that Park Si Hoo also had in consideration my desire, when he posted on Instagram the collage from Country Flowers. The last comment on the golf-video is mine (dana_miri_88). And this feeling is worth to me almost as a photo taken with him.
Very good Daniela Maria Miricescu! Indeed he posted instagram from flower country at the right moment just as you requested on his golf ig. Moreover he gave you many photos in one post. Bravo!
Thank you very much Nance for the report, for all the details of the meet event ! You have made us to feel the atmosphere of the event. It was a very enchanting day, for all of us who have read this excellent and detailed report .
Thanks for sharing this enchanted day so vividly with us Nance Phua! It was a delight to read. I could sense the joy you had together. I felt sorry to read PSH still encounters with difficulties which make life hard to go through for him. He must have felt so happy that many of his princesses could celebrate his birthday with him! We will always pull him uphill!
Nance,
Did he speak any English during the meeting? Or was there any translator for English speakers?
This is a Japanese Official Fan Club (JOFC) event, the only language spoken were Japanese and Korean. Park Sihoo-ssi only spoke Korean. There was neither Chinese nor English translation as there was not enough audience size for these languages.
OIC! It is great that you were able to follow the speech and presented for all sisters here. I’m from the States, would love to attend the event but I would feel lost there then… 😌
Having read a fan question to Nance in the main website she/he asked if PSH spoke English during the fan meet, which Nance has replied in the main website. I like to express here that all of us the followers of this blog run by Nance, when you read Nance’s detailed report of every PSH fan meet, we often just so engrossed our mind and soul and interest and energy all just focus on PSH and the event. How many of us ponder long enough to appreciate the one magic that Nance happened to pull to present in front of our eyes, is that the report is NOT JUST TIMELY delivered the next morning, it has crossed the most difficult hurdle, the language hurdle. Such hurdle is something if the task is left for any of us to handle, I won’t be exagerating if I say I will never ever be able to deliver a report, not even one that is badly written. So dear sisters, give your mind on this aspect and ponder on this MAGIC of gathering from several sources within that short window of time and present the event in the most accurate and descriptive perspective to all of us to read.
Indeed, Nance is our hero! I really appreciate all her works.
Chai Hua , again I do agree with you, that Nance’s immense effort to share so accurately in her report the wonderful atmoshpere at PSH’BP, not even knowing Korean or Japanese, is indeed fabulous. And I wonder if anyone could have written such a detailed report , for which all of us are so greatful to her.
Stefania Lupu I seriously doubt such feat such magic that Nance delivered can ever be matched by any other fan in this world. Personal opinion. I thought every now and then we should remind ourselves this group of us here, that such standard is not a given and the more it should not be expected from Nance on every event. Her health and her own well being should come 1st. We have been overly spoilt by Nance’s absolute dedication to both PSH and us the followers. 🙂
You are right and I do sincerely care about her health, because in her enthusiasm to have everything so perfectly done, she forgets about her health. We are happy when everyday she comes with her inspired articles on the blog, we are waiting so much, forgetting that everything is done with a lot of sacrifice. So, dear Nance, please take care of your health.!
Many thanks, ladies for your wonderfull support as always. At least I know my efforts are appreciated by you, even if Park Sihoo-ssi’s gatekeepEric does not appreciate this much. i am being a sour grape here because I can’t even get an autograph for the 365 days a year effort I pull a just for my favorite man! Of course I won’t love Park Sihoo-ssi any less…but it does reinforce my first impression of the lack of PR and people skill of the gatekeeper! Hahaha! 🙂
I’m so sorry Nance and I can’t even imagine that till now you don’t have PSH’s autograph. But I have hope that next time, at your next meeting with him, maybe in Japan , in June, you’ll be lucky to get his autograph. You deserve it .
Stefania Lupu I do have his autograph actually. In fact I have 4. Three of these are like those of any other fan who attended his events and signing was part of the agenda. So in a way, they have no significance to me. He signed my first book on his birthday last year but unfortunately it didn’t turn out well because I didn’t have the right pen and I could barely make out his signature. I had hoped to ratify this this year but unfortunately, I was told “no” by his gatekeeper! So that was that. Maybe I am being greedy! But I am a perfectionist and I want something more complete than what I got last year…then I will be happy 🙂 I am not complaining, mind you,..
I see Nance, and I must blame his gatekeeper. It;s a pity and I really don’t understand the reason .Is this such a strict rule ?
Stefania Lupu There is no rule…it is up to the whims and fancy of the gatekeeper. He and I never had any karma 🙂
Park Sihoo-ssi 박시후 씨 Nance, I fully emphatize with you fully feel where you are coming from, especially the part about all the other autographs bear no significance to you. Right now I am feeling the exact sentiment about the very same thing, about the one little thing of a memory but it is absolute significance to me,….geess….at this point I was interrupted as a door knock for an emergency of a car in fire in front of our house…..so now I forgot what I wanted to say. Firemen and police had just taken control of the situation.
Nance, I hate the whims and freaks of narrow minded persons.
Chai Hua Loke I have always in mind we are blessed Nance takes it as her responsibility to deliver her reports soonest possible after the actual event has taken place. It also marks the perfectionist she is in the core of her heart. However, she must take care of her health and get enough sleep and rest. Most of us have become addicted to the daily delivery of PSH posts all written by Nance herself. But an addiction may never cause harm to the supplier i.e. Nance. I am always grateful for anything she shares and will never complain when it would take more time. A human being can only do that much on a daily basis. It must never become an obligation when it comes from the free will. So Nance Phua thank you for everything, but don’t forget to enjoy yourself first when you are out on a PSH event!
Hi Wilma van Zwietering,I am fully aware all of us the supporters and followers of Nance are very understanding people. In no way I am saying we are taking things for granted, I say all those words to jolt myself too, to remind me that such stringent standard of blog run by Nance is not a given. Human nature where the novelty wears out hence I just wanted to express this to remind more of myself actually, not to take things for granted.:)
Of course, we all comment from our own perception Chai Hua Loke. Still for me I have the impression that sometimes there is a bit lack of consideration, but that’s personal. I didn’t intend to offend you because of your comment or feel offended myself Chai Hua! 🙂
