His princely presence at his birthday party in Buyeo

So I spun the spinning wheel last night to see where we will land in the past. And the wheel turned and pointed to April 2017. A great landing indeed as we can immerse again in our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi’s princely presence.

His birthday date with his fans, celebrated in his hometown Buyeo on 2 April 2017. Dressed in princely outfits, our Flower Prince welcomed his guests that evening, presented each of them with a lovely gift of a single rose, played games with them and entertained them singing lovely songs in his rich baritone.

And to celebrate his birthday, his fans gifted him, as per tradition, with rice wreathes – tons and tons of rice grains which he in turn donated to the needy in his hometown.

昨晚我旋转了轮盘，看我们降落在过去的哪个位置。轮盘转动并指向2017年 4月。确实是陆中了正点，因为我们可以再次沉浸在偶吧施厚君的王子的风采中。

在2017年4 月2日，他在家乡扶余与粉丝们庆祝了他的生日。当晚身着王子的服装，我们的花王子欢迎了他的客人，给每一位呈献了一枝玫瑰，并与她们一起玩游戏，还让大家欣赏他以美妙的男中音唱出的歌曲。

为了庆祝他的生日，粉丝们按照传统赠送给他米花篮，他把—吨吨的大米捐赠给家乡里有需要的人家。

Credibility is about “walk the talk” for this incredible man

I have a lot of respect for people who walk the talk. When they say something, they mean what they say and will put their words into action. This is what I call commitment!

So it is obvious that I will find obnoxious those who talk and talk and encourage others to walk their talk but they themselves do the opposite!

I respect those Chinese fans and their most passionate and capable leader at Baidu Park Sihoo Bar who say and do what they mean. They are strong role models for walk the talk. Because of them and their commitment, they have planted flags for Park Sihoo-ssi across many parts of China, particularly to do meaningful projects that benefit the less fortunate, the environment and their community. Sihoo Reading Rooms, support for the blind, deaf and orphaned children and care and protection of the environment.

Yes, no doubt, there are many Chinese. With so many pairs of hands, they can do wonders. But it is a huge and spread-out country, with many provinces that are still undeveloped, many far worse than some of their Asian neighbours. But when hearts are willing, fully committed and work together in unity, they will make things happen. Contribution of money is one thing and the easiest part. What is tougher and show their full commitment is their willingness to roll up their sleeves to do the hard work!

And walk the talk these Chinese sisters did for a recent project to plant trees in the remote areas near China’s Gansu and the Gobi desert. (Please see my earlier article “Trees for a cause”). This is a part of their contribution to Park Sihoo-ssi’s 39th birthday celebration. They committed to plant 2017 trees in conjunction with the “Million Forest” project. Under this agricultural and environmental protection program, the cultivation of enclaves of forests growing plants and trees aims to improve the ecological environment in these desert areas and help the locals earn income from the harvest from these plants.

Last weekend, 10 of our Park Sihoo-ssi fanship Chinese sisters made the arduous journey across the rough, remote, hot and dry desert terrain to plant these 2017 trees. They were all hands on deck on their hands and knees literally!

Not easy! Not something that everyone can do! But such commitment to walk the talk! Dear sisters, you are my role models and have my deepest respect! I bow in tribute!

是的，中国人口特多，不缺乏好多把手去做事。但中国也是一个庞大而地区分散的国家，许多省份仍然还未被发展，比一些亚洲邻国差得多。但是，当心有意愿，全心全意，团结合作就会做出事情来。钱的贡献是一回事，也是最简单的部分。更困难，显示出姐妹们的真诚的承诺是她们愿意卷起袖子去做艰苦的工作！

说得出口做得到，中国的厚粉姐妹为了庆祝施厚君的生日，在他的名下参加了“百万森林”的一个项目。承诺在中国甘肃和戈壁沙漠附近偏远地区种植2017棵树。请参阅之前的文章“绿化种植”）这项目计划在当地开发绿化带，种植适地经济树种，一方面帮助改善微气候和生态环境，另外一方面帮助农户增加收入。

上周末，十位中国姐妹们搭上了艰苦的旅程，去了炎热，干燥和荒芜的沙漠地带，种植了这2017棵树。她们可是真正的用双手一棵棵的栽种，用上了苦劳！

不容易啊！不是任何人都可以做得的！但这就是说得出做得到的承诺！姐妹们，妳们真的是我学习的好榜样，非常敬佩妳们为施厚君所做的一切！我向妳们鞠躬致敬！

Forget me not, this forget me not, Park Sihoo-ssi

Many of you may know about the mimosa plant, also known as the forget me not. It is the most inconspicuous and shyest plant. With the slightest touch, it will fold up its leaves and close itself out from the world.

I am an introvert, very much like the forget me not, especially when it comes to strangers, with people that I really care a lot about but not quite familiar with or whom I feel a deep respect for. It may seem strange to you when I can talk a lot and can appear to be totally extroverted when it comes to Park Sihoo-ssi…at least on paper, so to speak, on ParkSihooSsi.com.

But whenever I come face-to-face with the man himself, like during his birthday celebration, I become very nervous, tongue-tied and shy, just like the forget me not. I had no clue, not much impression of what transpired during that short one-on-one photo session. I went about like an automaton. All I remembered was him asking me twice “Hong Kong? Hong Kong?” And my reflex response was “No, Singapore”. I could have clarified that I am from Singapore but live and work in Hong Kong! That is if he could understand me or I just might confuse the man even more!

Ever the gracious gentleman

And I know that for many ladies, like the romantic prince he is, Park Sihoo-ssi held their hands during the photo session. I have no doubt he must have extended his but being so shy and self conscious, mine was clenched in fists! And it showed in the photo, my nervousness. Darn…my lost opportunity! I did feel the light touch of his hand on my shoulder though.

With so many photos being taken, around 280 shots, I wonder if he would even remember any of them. But for me, it will forever be a much treasured experience, a beautiful memory of our very gallant prince.

勿忘我！

许多人会知道含羞草这植物，它也被称为勿忘我。它是最不显眼和最害羞的植物了。即使轻微的触摸，它就会折叠它的叶子，隔离外界。

我是个内向的人，就像勿忘我，非常害羞，特别是涉及到陌生人或是我非常关心但不太熟悉的人，或是我深深尊重的人。可能大家会觉得奇怪，因为谈到施厚君时，我显得特别外向，至少在纸上，所发在ParkSihooSsi.com网站的贴子和讨论，完全不会感到是内向的人。

但每当我和施厚君本人面对面时，如在他生日庆祝活动中，我就会变得非常紧张，口呆和害羞，就像勿忘我一样。今年的生日会上的短短一对一合影时，我没有太多的印象，像机动一样。只记得他问我两次“香港？香港？” 而我的反应是“不是，是新加坡”。完全忘记解释我是来自新加坡，但在香港生活和工作！那是如果他听得懂我所说的，而不是被我弄得更混淆了！

就像浪漫的王子，施厚君在合影时和许多姐妹们握着手拍照了。他应该也伸出手来要握我的手，但害羞的我是拳头握紧自己的手！照片中显示出了我的紧张感。噢 …失去了机会！但感到他的手轻轻的搭在我肩膀上。

拍摄了这么多的照片，大约有280张吧，他是否还会记得这些照片。但对我们来说，这永远是个非常珍贵的经历，是个美好的回忆。

勿忘我这位勿忘我，施厚君！

A true gentleman

Park Sihoo-ssi’s gentlemanly behavior speaks for itself

I have always thought Park Sihoo-ssi a gentleman, very well brought up and courteous. During his birthday celebration, I saw more and it increased my respect for him as a true gentleman.

As I have shared in my earlier article, “An enchantingly day”, Park Sihoo-ssi went from table to table and personally presented to each of his fans a single, long-stemmed off-white pink rose. He made each and every one of us felt very special, looking us in the eyes and smiling his most dazzling smile, all very sincere and personal.

I will always remember this precious gift from my true gentleman!

Being the thoughtful gentleman he is, when he had done his round with all of his princesses, he did not forget about the emcee, Kim Tei. In fact, he was the one who signaled to the organizing staff for a rose when he was about to go up on stage to join her. Our very gentlemanly prince then presented the lady with the rose, making her most happy! An act of a true gentleman!

Not only that, during the one-on-one photo taking, he knew exactly how precious and treasured that one shot would be to his princesses. He made sure every photo turned out perfect and every lady looked and feel beautiful! I am totally happy with mine for sure. I felt beautiful both inside and outside, all because of a true gentleman! 真正的绅士

我一直认为施厚君是一位绅士，有着非常好的教养和彬彬有礼。在他生日庆祝活动中看到了他的优良态度，增加了我对他的尊重，他是一位真正的绅士。

正如我在之前的文章“妩媚的一天”中分享的，施厚君是一桌桌的，亲自给每位粉丝呈现了一枝粉白玫瑰花。他让我们每一位感到非常特别，眼对眼的看着我们，闪着他迷人的微笑，给我们感到他的真诚流入。

作为周到的绅士，送完鲜花给他所有的公主们后，他没有忘记在台上的主持人 Kim Tei。事实上，当他准备上台的时候，他自己亲自向工作人员要了一枝玫瑰花。非常绅士的王子上台后给这位漂亮女士呈现了那枝玫瑰，让她非常开心！一位真正绅士的行为！

不仅如此，在一对一的合影时，他知道这张照片将会是多么的珍贵和会被珍藏。他确保每张照片都拍得完美，让每位女士看起来很美丽！我真的很喜欢我的照片，让我感到内外美！都是因为一位真正的绅士！我们的鲜花王子施厚君！ 감사합니다！非常感谢！

The leaf and his flowers

Park Sihoo-ssi’s 39th birthday party centered around a flower theme with its Flower Prince. Given this fairy tale theme, we can be forgiven to let our imagination run wild, be and act whimsical too.

Pink and green, those were the colours of the two outfits he wore respectively at the beginning and at the end of his birthday celebration. Colours that he himself shared he felt shy about wearing because they were not quite what he normally wore. I guess our prince only had his princesses in mind and how he could create the fairy tale atmosphere to make them happy!

The pink matched the pink rose he presented to each of his princesses. The romance surrounding the occasion. The green? The leaf as he presented himself to be. That single leaf that would complement any and all of his princesses, his flowers! That leaf that would make every one of his princesses beautiful! So the evening was oh, so very romantic and fairy tale like, very much enjoyed by many of the princesses who were game to play dress-up.

A few decked in floral outfits, with fresh flower wreathes adorning their heads. Even one daringly went all out dressed like a bride, carrying her bridal bouquet, ready to march down the aisle with our Flower Prince…if only he were willing!

Hold your horses, my dear, least you forget what Ha Dana’s grandfather said in “Family Honour”. A marriage is not just between the man and the woman, it has to have the blessings of his and her families too! So, you need to get past Park Sihoo-ssi’s real family and the 280 plus members of his extended family, who were present that day…and many more who were not present!

The leaf and his flowers, in a world of make believe and fairy tale! In your dreams, my dears. Your sweet, sweet dreams! Hahaha! 🙂

绿叶和花儿

施厚君的39岁生日庆典的主题是“鲜花”和在鲜花王国的王子。鉴于这个童话主题，可以原谅我们的想象力变得狂野，异想天开。

粉红和绿，分别是他在开场和结束生日庆典时所穿的两件衣服的颜色。他自己分享穿这颜色的衣裳感到害羞，因为不是平时的穿着。在我们的王子的脑海里，应该只是想要如何创造童话气氛让他的公主们开心！

粉红搭配他向每位公主呈现的粉色玫瑰花，象征着浪漫。绿色就是代表他，这片绿叶。那片单绿叶，将配合任何和所有的公主们，他的花儿！那绿叶，将使每位公主显得美丽！

所以那晚上是非常浪漫和童话的气氛，许多到来的粉丝们都打扮得像公主般。好多位穿了花卉的服装，装饰着鲜花在头上。

还有位特大胆的公主，甚至穿上了新娘装，手里拿着结婚花束，准备与鲜花王子一起进礼堂，只要他愿意！

亲爱的小姑娘，可别忘了在“家门的荣光”里，何丹雅的祖父所说的话。婚姻不仅是男女之间的事，也必须得到他和她的家人的允许和祝福！所以，妳得通过施厚君的家人，还有在现场的超过280多位施厚君的家族成员，加上那晚没到席的更多亲人才可以哦！不容易啊！

绿叶和花儿，在一个梦幻和童话的世界中！亲爱的，做妳甜蜜的美梦吧！哈哈哈！

From us to you with all of our love, Park Sihoo-ssi!

Apologies that this came late in my sharing. There were so many other updates for Park Sihoo-ssi’s birthday, so this got delayed.

A week ago, we celebrated Park Sihoo-ssi’ 39th birthday with him. It was a beautiful experience as our Flower Prince lived up to his name. He looked dashingly gorgeous in every one of his outfits – in semi casual pastel pink, brilliant green and formal princely blue!

But what was more precious to us was being up close with him. He came off-stage interacting with us, taking one-on-one photos and adding the personal touch presenting each of us with a simple but meaningful gift of a pale pink rose.

From us to you

Yes, we received a gift from you to us, Park Sihoo-ssi. And from this website ParkSihooSsi.com, we also presented gifts from us to you. Like you, I thought gifts should be meaningful and that the receiver must enjoy and appreciate them. The monetary value is not important but more the intrinsic value of the gift and what it represented.

Starting last year and into this year, I created some sort of tradition. Since the website ParkSihooSsi.com is still relatively young, it is a good time to start. Hahaha! 🙂 🙂 🙂

While we celebrated, we did not forget the less fortunate

The other tradition is charity. As we celebrate, we want to also do this with the less fortunate in mind. Again, this year, we gave Park Sihoo-ssi a rice wreathe with 500 kg of rice, a part of the total 2,200kg that was contributed for the occasion. He will decide what he wants to do with the rice later. From us to you to them. This is a small way to do good for the community.

Well, not my flesh and blood sons but their look-alike have been sent to keep Park Sihoo-ssi company and share with him the cookies in their cookie tins! They have more foodie goodies to share too, favorites from my hometown Singapore, for our ever on a food lookout foodie! Plus tees with our messages “0078 Party Time”, “Brave” and “Star”…contained in this black, checked haversack to complement one of Park Sihoo-ssi’s distinctive jacket! And all nicely packed, books and all, in a mighty heavy floral basket.

一个星期前，我们和施厚君一起庆祝了他的39岁生日。跟我们的鲜花王子一起庆祝是一个美丽的经历。鲜花王子之名的确适合他，他穿的每一件衣服都显出他的华丽和潇洒 – 半休闲粉红套装，辉煌的绿色套装和正式的王室蓝装！

但是对我们，更珍惜是能够跟他在一起度过美好的时光。他与我们的互动，一对一的合影，亲自亲切的呈现简单但有意义的淡粉色玫瑰花礼物给我们每一位到来的粉丝。

Park Sihoo-ssi is so newsworthy

Park Sihoo-ssi has always been so newsworthy. His every action has always been able to get a reaction.

These reactions can be good or bad, depending on the circumstances. We have seen both. Good news and bad news and how news could be leveraged to do good or do bad! It is great when news are being used positively. But I simply abhor people who use the guise of anonymity, and I speculate even exchanges of underhand money, to spread malicious and unfounded rumors. These scums of the earth and their backers should be treated like the dirt and filth that they are!

It feels good to see Park Sihoo-ssi in the news in Korea recently. Not only that, but also in Japan, China and many other countries. News on his record, long running Enishi magazine, his drama “Local Hero” or “Unsung Hero” as it is known in Japan making waves and just the day before, an exclusive from Star News on his 39th birthday celebration.

These so newsworthy reports on our man augur well his comeback again to K-entertainment! His audience has been waiting and they definitely want this Hallyu star back and very soon!

So what did Star News report in the video news coverage? I won’t go verbatim but will give you the gist. Overall it is a good report…otherwise I won’t even bother 🙂 Kekeke!

They raved that Park Sihoo-ssi is once again creating his ‘Sihoo storm’ in Japan through his drama “Local Hero”. His charisma has never diminished and neither has he forgotten his No 1 Treasure, his fans. He constantly seeks to repay their love and support in one way or another. This time, Star News caught up with him celebrating his 39th birthday with his fans from Korea, Japan, China and other countries.

Dressed for the season in pastel pink and brilliant green, Park Sihoo-ssi was transformed into the Flower Prince. He was a little shy about his dress up, feeling that it wasn’t quite like him. (Remember our man shared that he loves his casual tees and jeans?) He hosted the celebration in his hometown, Buyeo. His love for his ancestral land makes him a befitting ambassador for this small county. He takes pride in his role and has always welcomed his fans to his beloved hometown.

On his 39th birthday, his fans came to celebrate and cheer him on in this place he so loves. His activities were designed to allow him to be closer to his fans through more interactive games, rather than a one-way performance. And evidently, his fans enjoyed this, showering him with cheers and applause. They were completely entralled by Park Sihoo-ssi who presented each of them a rose as a special gesture. And of course, they were entranced by his commanding presence wearing his princely outfit – much like their fairy tale prince! The closeness of Park Sihoo-ssi and his fans was evident in their friendly, easy going and playful exchanges.

A happy occasion that was newsworthy

The report went on to talk about how Park Sihoo-ssi was making waves with his drama “Local Hero”. It has been highly popular since it was broadcast in Japan, with its popularity reflected in the audience reception, ranking, online searches and preview downloads.

Park Sihoo-ssi is currently reviewing his next project. He mentioned that it has been a while since he acted in a historical drama. If there is something recently written in the likes of “the Princess Man”, it would be interesting to experience it again. (Is this a hint, Park Sihoo-ssi? A change from earlier thinking?) No matter what project, his fans have been anxiously waiting and looking forward to his next move. They will definitely be there to lend him their love and support!

回应有好有坏，以情况而定。两种回应我们都经历过。好和坏消息，新闻是有可能被利用来做好或坏的报道的！新闻被做好的报道的确是好的。但我最憎恶使用匿名幌子的人，（猜测底下有着金钱利益的交易在作怪），去传播恶意和毫无根据的谣言。对待这些地球的垃圾和他们的后台应该像处理污垢和污秽一样！

最近在韩国的新闻里看到施厚君的好消息，感到特别高兴。不仅如此，在日本，中国等其他国家也有类似报告。新闻报告有关他的缘Enishi 杂志发行的悠长记录，电视剧“小区英雄”或在日本称“无名英雄”受欢迎的浪潮，还有前天，独家星报报道他39岁生日庆祝活动的视频。

Flowers are forever like our love for Park Sihoo-ssi!

Exactly as what poet Lord Alfred Tennyson said, if I were to have a flower for every thought I have of Park Sihoo-ssi, I will have a perpetual garden full of flowers! And having a great love for all flowers bright and beautiful, I hope my garden will be filled with at least one of every single kind!

Other than my family and friends and my work, our charming Flower Prince fills my every other thought!

This is of course inevitable if I want to keep this website ParkSihooSsi.com going. Because my basic principle is that every article I post here should be an original one, I need to think through the daily dose of articles to make this site interesting. So Park Sihoo-ssi gets quite a bit of my attention every day. From researching the web for ideas, flipping through photos and watching interviews and news videos, scanning through magazines and reliving his dramas and movies. And when an idea strikes, that is when I get down to writing, so even more thoughts on the man!

He enriches and makes my life much more enjoyable. With every thought, I will have flowers in abundance blooming everyday in my beautiful garden. Now and forever!

Park Sihoo-ssi’s birthday with its flower theme is pretty contagious. For me who has a soft spot for flowers, the theme is most attractive. I am enchanted! 🙂

Now I keep on thinking of all those beautiful blooms I saw in Flower Country! Especially that single pale pink rose that he personally presented to me. I have painstakingly packed it so that it would still retain its fresh beauty for my flight home.
