Continued from yesterday’s “The Princess Man: After thoughts Part 1″…
Following yesterday’s nostalgic recollection of the after thoughts of Park Sihoo-ssi after his “The Princess Man”, today we have more! Throwback to the past! Such sweet memories his after thoughts bring…
How was it like working together with his co-stars?
According to Park Sihoo-ssi, it was all very good. The three friends, Seungyu, Jung Jong 정종 and Shin Myeon 신면 worked well together during the shoot and also got along well on the set.
In the case of Seryung, she was like a younger sister whom Park Sihoo-ssi had known for a long time and was comfortable with right from the beginning.
Does Park Sihoo-ssi want to have a love like in “The Princess Man”?
His immediate response was a definitive “No” as this was a most painful kind of love. Instead, he preferred the sweet, romantic kind!
He hasn’t been in love for a long time, maybe since five, six years ago. It seemed that he had lost the feeling, and looked to ignite that feeling during the filming of the drama. In reality, he should have the experience of being in love and then re-enacting it during the drama. (Laugh)
Park Sihoo-ssi shared that the most memorable scene during Kim Seungyu’s date with Seryung was that of the swing and the horse riding scene.
What did he enjoy about the filming?
He likes horse riding and wanted to do it when he was not filming but there was no place for horse riding. The other actors were afraid that they would fall off a horse. He shared that the horse riding trainer likes him because he likes horses and horse riding. This is a good match for a historical drama. (Nance: I remember reading somewhere that his great grandfather was into horse riding too. Maybe it is in his genes 😄)
He also shared that he enjoyed the wilderness of the mountains, traveling, barbequing meat with his manager and the staff. He also likes the scenery and the water (Nance: likely from the stream and waterfall) is beautiful. There are chairs spread out on the set for resting and when there is a breeze, he would take a nap while waiting for his turn to shoot. He joking said that that was the real thrill of filming a historical drama. (Laugh)
Was there any difficulty he encountered?
It was hard to travel all over the country for the filming and because it was midsummer, it was hot and uncomfortable to wear a Hanbok. Everything seemed to have a good and a bad side. (Nance: Because of the shoot and air format previously, the cast and crew had to travel all over the country for the filming, depending on the storyline and the scenes that would be upcoming. Our Oppa was travelling non-stop and it was most exhausting.)
The scene in the prison where he had to squeeze Seryung’s neck was the most difficult. It was the scene where Seungyu screamed at her for her betrayal and wanted to squeeze the life out of her. He shot the scene continuously and completed it within a day. It was so intense that when the filming was over, he was totally exhausted.
What did he think of the outfits he wore for his character?
His favorite outfit for “The Princess Man” was the hanbok which he wore for the swing scene. It was a yellow and purple outfit that matched perfectly the one worn by Seryung.
In the second half of the drama when he returned as the dark avenging angel, his costume and hairstyle changed. His clothes were primarily black and he also used a hair band to pull back his hair. He was told that the cartoon of his character started to appear then.

His after thoughts on the filming
When he looked at the replay of the scenes after the shoots, he was embarrassed to say “cool”, even though they were really good. After watching the replay of his first appearance, he thought it turned out better than he had expected. (Laugh)
He was disappointed that the sweet and beautiful melo scenes between Seungyu and Seryung were not that many and they were all very short. His Seungyu had to push away Seryung later due to her betrayal.
He was worried about his melo scenes with Seryung. He continued to have feelings for her despite her betrayal and he was curious how the writer would unfold the plot (Nance: note that at that point in time, it was shooting and writing (or re-writing) as the drama went on air, so the actors might not have the full picture of the story).
Seungyu kidnapped Seryung, grabbed her by the throat and threw at her hurtful words, but he still had feelings for her. Seungyu had Seryung gagged and held a knife at her throat and yet he wanted to have her by his side because he liked her more than taking revenge.
That was how Park Sihoo-ssi interpreted it when he was filming. Later, he untied the rope around Seryung and went outside for a breather. Seryung didn’t run away and waited for him. And Seungyu understood Seryung’s feelings, but he had to take revenge, so it was a really complicated feeling.
