Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju 2018

A beanpole is a stick which provides support to a bean plant. It is also a term to describe a person who is thin and tall, well, like a beanpole.

We saw our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi over the weekend during his “Park Sihoo Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju”. He was looking dashing as usual but was looking like a beanpole. Absolutely thin, his face so chiseled and angular and his legs like chopsticks. Kekeke! 😂

This was when I remarked that something must be up in the horizon for him. A new project likely, otherwise the foodie that he is, he would be indulging in his favorite pastime, eat! And his face would be rounded.

And yes, our Oppa confirmed during the event to his delighted fans that we will hear news of his new project very soon!

Yay! Beanpole Oppa is a real indicator of our favorite actor’s next move. He needs to keep himself really thin to look good for the cameras! And we are certainly most excited! Can’t wait to hear more!

偶吧Oppa变得像豆架子会怎么样？

豆架子beanpole是一枝坚固的棍，用来撑正在成长的豆藤。 把人称为豆架子时，是说他又瘦又高，像豆架子一样。

在上周末，我们参加了施厚君的 “Park Sihoo Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju”活动，见到了我们的Oppa施厚君。 他像往常一样看来特帅，但是像豆架子一样。 好瘦好瘦，脸尖尖，腿像筷子一样，又长又瘦的。

当时我说了，他应该有作品要开拍了。可能有新的项目，否则他会沉迷于他最喜欢的消遣，吃！ 脸就会显得胖。

是的，我们的偶吧Oppa在活动中宣布我们很快就会听到好消息！

耶！ 豆架子Oppa给我们暗示了我们最喜欢的演员的下一步。 他需要保持自己的体型，瘦身子在摄影机的拍摄下才能显得更帅！ 我们当然激动啦！ 期待尽早听到更多消息！

Caution: Long article and only in English as it was rather taxing to do the Chinese translation when my brain is exuberant with the fantastic news but dull from lack of sleep. Apologies for any typo or grammatical error. No photography was allowed during the event, so you will not get anything taken of the event except where allowed. 

It should have been campers unite this weekend. And the promise of camping under the stars in the beautiful outdoors of Jeju.

But the weather was not in our favour, raining heavily the night before and threatening to rain in the early evening. So we had to hold the “Park Sihoo Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju” indoors instead. Despite the recalcitrant weather, we “campers” had a great time with our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi! Indoor camping! And we let our imagination run wild, imagining ourselves camping outdoor. Nothing could spoil the pleasure of being in his company!

The event started early at around 1630h. For once, we had our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi nice and early waiting for us instead of us waiting for him. He and his team were at the door to welcome us as soon as the doors were thrown open. I admit, I wasn’t paying attention as I was chatting with fellow fans as we walked in to the ballroom. So I was taken by surprise to see him there at the door! A most pleasant surprise it was too! A high five with our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi at the very start! Oh yeah!

The room was simply decorated with three screens showing a pictorial of autumn with falling leaves. Smack in the middle of the room was a camping tent, a small simulated bonfire, a barbeque grill and a camping chair. Ah, they created the ambience of camping indoors!

Our Oppa was dressed in his regular black ripped jeans, a white tee, a black and white paisley print jacket and black ankle-high boots.  He spotted the same hairstyle as that in his Channel A’s  “Amazing Journey with Pets 개밥주는남자 – 개묘한여행” reality TV program. Casually dashing as he always is!

The emcee made her introduction and our Oppa joined her. He said in his forgetfulness he had thought this Chinese event series was into its 5th year but he was mistaken, It was actually the 4th and he thanked fans for their past support and hope this would continue into the future. He was worried that it would be cold but the weather turned out good, actually rather hot. However because of inclement weather, unfortunately, the event had to be held indoors.

The event focused on interactivity between our Oppa and his fans with lots of table games. Park Sihoo-ssi went from table to table playing different games. It was his ladies pitted against him in guessing where the marbles were in their hands, visually identifying the differences in posters which we were shown for a couple of minutes, guessing what would be his next expression and whether he would raise an X or O counter at the count of three. Our Oppa, he lost to his ladies at almost all of the tables, so he had to give out prizes to the winners.  A beautiful photo of himself for each winner.

Then it was straight into the one-on-one question and answer session and one-on-one photo taking with Park Sihoo-ssi. I was first for once. Good and bad.

The bad was that I was the guinea pig as they were trying to get everything right and our Oppa was meticulously adjusting things to perfection, like bringing the companion semi reclining camping deck chair which the fan would sit closer to him, getting the right camera angle etc. I had no idea how that one-on-one photo would look, since it was taken by the cameraman and we will get this afterwards.  I do hope I don’t look like a mad woman or a huge elephant next to our extra slim Oppa…or worst, both! Aaargh!

The Q&A was a bit of a stretch. The restricted few seconds of conversation and the language barrier that required translation did not make it the most natural and comfortable experience. Instead of pulling us closer, it actually made that interaction rather awkward and drew us apart! Even though I have met him countless times, this encounter made me so nervous that my hands were freezing cold despite the warm room. While the idea was good, the practicality of this and the execution left much to be desired.

The good about being first? My nose got the whiff of our Oppa’s scent…untainted! So this hound could report back to Chai Hua who has been constantly asking any and everyone how our Oppa smelled.  He smelled really nice actually. Light, fresh and little a “talcumy”, powderly scent. What fragrance? I, unfortunately, am clueless, not being well versed with men, or even women, fragrances for that matter. Sorry, I really am not such a great hound. Bonggu would have fared way better, he is afterall a natural! Kekeke! 😂

Then, our Oppa, he went from table to table serving us delectable beef, grilled off-site because of regulatory restriction on cooking indoors. I believe that he did not cook the beef but he put the finishing touches with such finesse and flourish right before our eyes!  He made show of adding the balsamic fond de veau sauce and sprinkling grated cheese with such gusto that made us all salivating and wanting to sink our teeth into that nice slab of grilled beef!

Bonggu-ya, aren’t you envious? Woof! Grannies and aunties, please enjoy my Hyeong’s beef. It was delicious, right? I can vouch or it as I have had experience! Woof! Absolutely, Bonggu-ya, absolutely!

Our Oppa then did a champagne toast at each table with his ladies. Cheers to idol, fans and friends! 

This time, Park Sihoo-ssi did not write any long letter to read out to us. He rounded up the event saying that he enjoyed very much the evening and the company. When he was adding the sizzle to the beef, he had such great fun and hoped that we all enjoyed his personal touch. He thought we should meet more frequently and he promised, weather permitting, to cook us a good grill in future. 

And our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi, he saved the best for last! He shared what we have all been waiting for, for so long that our necks have grown to be as long as that of giraffes! His most fantastic news that got us breaking into loud applause, our most spontaneous reaction all evening, was that very soon, we will be hearing news of his next project!  Yeah!  Now that really called for a toast! Hip, hip, hooray!  This was such sweet music to our ears indeed!

So with this, our Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi bade us good night. And we all trooped out to the hallway of the ballroom, lining up along two sides to send off our favorite actor, our favorite man and our favorite Oppa! We have much to look forward to! Oh, yeah!

Campers, we united in Jeju…and soon, in Tokyo, as audiences on 5 January 2020 for Park Sihoo-ssi’s Tokyo fan meeting! Ready sisters? I am! Fan meeting tickets for both afternoon and evening performances, air ticket and accommodation all booked.  See you come beginning 2020, Park Sihoo-ssi! Meanwhile, we will be looking out for the news!

By now, as Park Sihoo-ssi long time fans, we all know our Oppa is an avid camper! Hey, his camper  passion was also shown on national TV  in the reality program on Channel A, the “Amazing Journey with Pets 개밥주는남자 – 개묘한여행”! Twice he “camped” and indulged in his other fav BBQ in just five episodes of the show! Once in Buyeo and another, when he was lured into thinking he was going camping on the sea with BBQ thrown in! Kekeke! 😂

Well, our camper Oppa is determined to make campers of his ladies yet! And what better way and time to start then to have it as the theme of his upcoming “Park Sihoo Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju 2019”! A special camping program he has planned, just for his ladies! 

Beautiful scenery, beautiful natural surroundings, great company, gorgeous man and his most delicious serving of morsels of food right onto our plates! 

The marketing spill is that he will even chat with us! Now, that, I am happy! We rarely get to have any chance to talk to him …let alone have any decent conversations before they shepherd him off! Let’s talk Oppa! And in English, please! Thank you!

In the past, on a couple of occasions, I have talked about how good it would be to get a bear hug from our favorite man Oppa Park Sihoo-ssi! Especially when stress level is high, a hug can offer great comfort. 

On Saturday for his Enishi magazine’s  “Lucky Seven” celebration, Park Sihoo-ssi did just that. He gave a big, long and heartwarming bear hug! So unexpected it was!

About a year back, our Oppa made good his promise that he would give his Enishi readers a hug if his KBS drama “My Golden Life” achieved a rating of 30%. Well, the drama made history as it was the highest rated drama since five years prior to its broadcast.  Its highest rating was over 45%. So an Enishi hug event was held in Lake Biwa, Japan, on 1 July 2018 to celebrate the achievement.

Our Oppa dispensed his hugs quick and fast then, barely a couple of secs and it was all over. 

Last Saturday, it was an entirely different hug and definitely very much welcomed. Park Sihoo-ssi was most welcoming with open arms and it was a big bear hug, like the greeting of a friend one has not seen in a long while.  Very warm, very sincere and totally engaged!

Now this is the type of hug that is most comforting, Park Sihoo-ssi. For me, it certainly bolstered my waning energy and enthusiasm from the stress of work and life in a violent protest driven city. Your hug lifted my spirits and from the lethargy of writing!

Re-charged, rejuvenated re-energised! The magic is in Oppa’s bear hug! Thank you! ❤️

在过去有好几次，我谈到了我们最喜欢的男神偶吧Oppa施厚君给的拥抱！ 特别是当压力较高时，拥抱可以给极大的舒适感。

上周六，在他的缘Enishi杂志的“幸运七”活动里，施厚君就是这么做了。 他给了又大又长的温暖的熊抱！ 真是太意外了！

大约一年前，偶吧Oppa实现了他的承诺，当时承诺如果他的KBS电视剧“我黄金光辉的人生”达到30％的收视率，他会给缘Enishi读者一个拥抱。 这部电视剧在五年的期间内创造了历史，最高收视率超过了45％。 因此，缘Enishi拥抱活动就于2018年7月1日在日本琵琶湖举办了。

当时，偶吧Oppa是快速地给了每位参加活动的粉丝一个拥抱，但只有短短的几秒钟就结束了。

上周六是完全不同的拥抱，是熊抱，非常受欢迎。 偶吧Oppa给的是最热情，双臂张开的大熊抱，就像久违的朋友的问候一样。 非常亲切，非常真诚，完全投入！

施厚君，这可是令人欣慰的拥抱。 对我来说，减轻了我在工作和生活被充满暴力示威城市的压力，给我增添真能量和热情，让我能够重新振作起来，再有灵感去写作！
