PARK SIHOO-SSI’S DRAMATIC THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL 2017 – DRAMATIC ENCOUNTER SERIES
施厚君的2017年戏剧化感恩节活动 – 戏剧化的相遇系列
Last night hailed a new hero in Osaka. One in his wildest dream he would never have thought he would become one. One who was minding his own business, practising his fighting skills with two instructors in a gym in Seoul. After the session with his spar mates, he continued to practice alone in the gym before he felt uneasy.
Suddenly a force hit him, the impact making him crash backwards into a mirror and then transcending space and maybe even time and eventually transporting him from Seoul to Osaka! Not only that, he became a lean, mean fighting machine, winning fame in the process as a hero!
And so, this was how Park Sihoo-ssi’s Baek Siyoon appeared before us. A silhouette figure who came from behind the curtains, tapping his hat, wearing a black jacket, dark grey tee, black jeans, and black boots! Whew, what a cool dude! What a hero! A new hero!
Then the hero said…ok, I understand it was supposed to be Japanese, Osaka Japanese…and this Korean hero? He forgot his line! And burst out laughing! Kekeke!
He had a good sense of humour to laugh at himself, to cover up! Hahaha! And then he suddenly pointed to the front rows of his audience and laughed louder! “You look familiar! Weren’t you there this afternoon but only changed your seats?” Hahaha!
Okay, he was forgiven and he could say his lines again!
“I have come, I have come to be Osaka’s protector!” (Or something like that if my interpretation is correct.)
And the audience shouted “Osaka hero Sihoo-ssi!”
The emcee then asked the hero to walk across the stage and wave to his audience, which he did!
Photos were shown on the screen of our hero checking out Osaka after he had been transported from Seoul. Him in his white hoodie and white jeans walking around the streets in Osaka, on the prowl maybe to see if there were any misdeed happening in this part of the neighborhood. He passed by a landmark crab restaurant…now, we were not sure if the foodie hero actually went in for some crab! And then he walked some more.
The emcee asked what he ate for breakfast yesterday morning and he replied that he had a late night so slept in instead of having breakfast. He had been fighting off street bullies, corporate villains, saving damsels in distress, bringing down big bad guns, defending the neighborhood and more! Wow, he had been very, very busy indeed!
Suddenly, we heard something…a commotion, maybe even a battle cry? I don’t know what it was as I was distracted for a minute, but I could see the hero and the emcee on a look out for something or someone!
Then a ninja looking man wearing all black except for his striking red mask that covered most of his head but his nose and cheeks were peeking out. Ah, Baek Siyoon kind of thought him familiar and recalled that he was the old Osaka hero! He had come as he heard that someone had invaded his turf! He wanted to challenge this new comer and put him to a test. Whoever won can then be Osaka’s hero?
So who would win? The old hero or the new hero?
Well, they had to battle it out to know the outcome, right?
No 1 challenge was how much stamina each had or rather, how much lung power! The test? Whoever blew the biggest balloon within the given time! Easy, breezy win for Baek Siyoon! Why? Wearing a mask with his mouth covered made it difficult to breathe, let alone blow a balloon! Winner? Baek Siyoon!
No 2 challenge was on fighting skills! Who could execute a better back kick with his opponent holding a pink fan up high? The one that could strike down the fan would win! Well done old hero! One kick and the fan was down. Now it was the new hero’s turn…old hero held the fan up way high as challenge. Alas, he failed to thaw his opponent! Our new hero was quick, high and accurate! Twark! And down went the pink fan! Winner? Baek Siyoon!
Then came No 3, a test of reflexes. Scissors, paper, stone. Whoever lost would be hammered on the head by a huge hammer! But you could wear a saucepan as protective gear, that is, provided you were quick to grab it first and put it over your head! Once you get hit on the head, you were comatose, out! Three tries to decide the winner. Strike 1, scissors, paper stone! Old hero won! Quick hammer! Quicker protective gear! Tang! Hit the pan! Not the head! Second chance! scissors, paper stone! Old hero won! Quick hammer! Quicker protective gear! Tang! Hit the pan! Not the head! Third strike! scissors, paper stone! New hero won! Quick hammer! Pionggg! A direct hit on the head! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Winner? Baek Siyoon!
Now, a hero also needed to have fun! What was more fun than dancing? So No 4 challenge! Dance to the music! Begin! And the song about “Barbara Streisand” came on! The old hero begged the audience to vote for him! Yeah, yeah! And he danced. Good work! Then came Baek Siyoon’s turn…he stopped the music after a few seconds! All these challenges seemed unfair, kind of biased in his favor! No fair, can’t do! No, no, no! But the audience loved it! They though it was fair!
So Barbara Streisand came on again and our new hero danced his signature dance to the rhythm and amusement of his audience. Winner? Baek Siyoon!
Winner swept all! For sure! Old defeated by new! Old conceded to new! Yeah, we hailed a new hero in Osaka! Baek Siyoon!
The new hero is the real hero! Yeah!
Then it was photo time to celebrate with the new hero! Headline news! Read all about it! New hero, new hero in Osaka!
And the new hero said to all in Osaka “I love you and will be here to protect you!”
We then saw the new hero in action, helping a couple of damsels in distress!
A lady walking hurriedly and suddenly, ouched! She had a broken high heel! The new hero walked by, asked once “Are you ok?” and then he walked away…Hey! Aren’t you supposed to help the lady? He asked again “Are you ok?” Then he burst out laughing and walked away! The emcee was flabbergasted! Hey hero! How can you laugh at the lady and not help? And he replied, I asked if she said she was ok and she appeared very happy to have broken her high heels…so I walked away. Ok, cut! Repeat! And we saw our hero piggy-bagging the lady to the nearest bench! Yeah, her hero!
It was after work and this other lady was walking to the bus stop when it started raining. She had a heavy bag and started running. The hero saw her and asked “Are you ok?” And she said ok and continued to walk getting drenched in the heavy rain. The hero took off his jacket, gave it a flick and used it to shelter her to the nearest bench! Yeah, a hero to the rescue! Our Osaka hero!
The video showing Park Sihoo-ssi practising his fighting skill was shown again, a rehearsal for Kim Seungyu coming up on 15 June 2017 in Tokyo! Great sword play using a long stick and umbrella. Even his brother Park Woohoo-ssi joined in the fun! A strike and thrust here and there in practice with the umbrella and then, aaagh! Oh no! A cut on his right hands! Blood, lots of!
What to do? What to do? Head for the hospital! Hours and 15 stitches later…he went went home. His take, filming of dramas like the Princess Man and Unsung hero though the moves appeared difficult, were actually easier and safer as each scene was filmed in progressive stages then pieced together by computer. For his Dramatic Thanksgiving Festival, it was more dangerous as everything was performed live!
Hope the hand is healing well, Park Sihoo-ssi!
As the video was showing, Park Sihoo-ssi had a change of clothes. This time he wore a white suit with blue and orange stripes, a white tee and white shoes. He played the piano singing the same song he sang yesterday afternoon “For that kind of pride” or in Japanese, pronouced as “sonna puraido no tameni” (translation from Japanese/Chinese, sorry I still don’t know the English name).
Following this the emcee and him chatted about Osaka and the city’s attractions. Food such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki are must-trys. Maybe Park Sihoo-ssi did that last night after he finished up his Osaka events? We caught him setting off in black tee and white knee length shorts after the show!
Other attractions are shopping or more specifically outlet shopping, sight-seeing and photo taking and going to Universal Studios. Park Sihoo-ssi has never been to Universal Studios in Osaka though he loves rollercoaster rides. One time, he bought a year pass for Lotte World so he could take the rides! 🙂 Now, the young at heart, the kid in him is certainly strong as we have seen so far! What did he like? Food, shopping, sight-seeing, photo taking or amusement parks. He loves all of them!
But in Osaka one thing he should do. Do as the locals do, so basic local Osaka dialect is a must! Must learn the phase “oreno maidae murisen deh deh” or meaning, “be yourself, in my presence, you don’t have to act to impress me”. Okay, something like that since I am not from Osaka and know nuts! He heard from a male in the audience and a couple of ladies on how to say the sentence. To him, they all sounded different! Someone said he should say it in a sexier way. So he came down stage to learn from this teacher, and impressive, he said it so well, full of emotion! So happy to be praised that he ran round the audience and then back up on stage!
It was the unveiling of the winners of the Unsung Hero drawing contest and a few entries were selected. The winners were presented with posters personally signed by Park Sihoo-ssi.
He shared that he would be visiting Japan more often and wanted to learn some Japanese. He was asked to share a couple of phases he had learnt and he said in a sexy way “anatawa dona ta deska?” or “Who are you?” and “arigato gozaimatsuta”, that is “thank you”.
He ended the day in Osaka with the song “Will you marry me?” to which we all replied “Marry me!”
High-five ensued … a great ending with Park Sihoo-ssi bidding us good night on his Instagram. He was very happy yesterday and that he would see us in Tokyo! Good night!
We are happy too…tired but happy! Hail, the new hero! Our hero!
Yawn! I need some beauty sleep! Have been writing all night and all of the wee hours of the morning! Maybe like Park Sihoo-ssi, I will sleep in rather than have breakfast!

Gosh, can’t believe that I went on and on writing non stop all night and all through the wee hours of the morning! Now I am so exhausted, I am ready to hit the sack before my afternoon flight to Tokyo! Park Sihoo-ssi, I hope you enjoyed the nonsense I have written in my sleep!
Go sleep now, just make sure you wake up in time for your flight.
好好睡!😴做个好梦!静等中文翻译!👼❤
Oh Nance you are so self deprecating! No the 2 articles you wrote on PSH’s Osaka events yesterday, in particular the latter one where you sacrificed your sleep once again – they cannot be nonsense. They are gems which we who could not attend his events physically treasure much for the vivid and detailed account that help transport us into that same concert hall. I normally would read them more than once to be sure I don’t miss out details. Then I would close my eyes and imagine the scene the setting the gorgeousness of that central figure in centre stage – deserving of all attention and limelight! Thanks again Nance! So it’s on to Tokyo instead of first return to HK. Does not matter which ever way, just ensure sufficient rest and good food to nourish tired mind and body!
Eres un hombre admirable y genial
I say, Hail! Nance! Bravo Nance. You have reached another height, TWO reports in a day, just a day after the previous report of Fukuoka! I am speechless other than BIG THANK YOU, BIG HUGS, LOTS OF KISSES! You sleep well zzzzzzzzzz
15 Stitches!! This is the sole reason as we fans said, his dramatic thanksgiving festival is a rare event, live performance is no trick, all for real. I am glad Claudie seizes the opportunity to experience Tokyo first hand, now reading this report, Tokyo Kim Seungyu’s will be more treasured and precious because of this small accident. Claudie said she believes in her dreams and scarcely let her dreams disappoint her. And PSH has worked extremely hard for the difficult Kim Sengyu’s actions. Claudie more of your dreams to materialise on 15th June now that you have done the 1st tick, by being in Tokyo right now, after flying nearly 20,000 Km from your home via Paris to Tokyo. We make our dreams happen, nothing is impossible. Bravo Bravo Bravo!!!
感謝姐姐的美文,辛苦了,把我們昨晚的回憶,全都留起了。
When we speak about an excellent, exceptional, special, well done performance , that enchants, delights, gladdnes the heart of the audience, then we call it “un regal”[in Romanian] , coming from French “regal”. “Regal’ describing things that appear to be royal, majestic. From Nance’s
description of PSH’s show in Osaka, read at one sitting, , his performance can be called “a regal”, “a majestic performance”. This could have happened because there is art in his heart, there is majesty in his heart, there is love in his heart, there is music in his heart. Most of all, there is his great talent that has delighted and fascinated his audience. But much more, this time being the producer, the script writer, the director and the interpreter of his own performances, I can call him and his shows “a regal of a great actor”. No need to say that Nance’s excellent reports must be read two times , and I’ll do so, to feel again the splendor of PSH’s shows. Nance, thanks for your effort, for your complete and detailed reports of his two wonderful performances in Osaka, that has brought me there in the midst of a grand and majestic moment. Thanks to PSH too!
awesome
Hope you were able to silence your brains after having been writing for such a long time and have had a sound and a invigorating sleep Nance! Enjoy your stay in Tokyo and thank you for another well written report of all you experienced on site!
Hello Nance, my heartfelt thanks to you for the detailed write-up on PSH’s Osaka events. Two write ups in 1 night and hot off the press too. I salute you for your effort, dedication and commitment. Please give yourself a good rest and enjoy your time in Japan ! 👏✊💖😊
Dear Nance, I subscribe to all the beautiful words our sisters in PSH wrote; I could not express better my joy and thanks to you. As for your white nights, you could not have it. The song of Eliza in My Fair Lady (I Could Have Danced All Night) it suits you very well:
Bed! Bed! I couldn’t go to bed!
My head’s too light to try to set it down! Sleep! Sleep!
I couldn’t sleep tonight.
Not for all the jewels in the crown!
I could have danced all night!
I could have danced all night!
And still have begged for more.
I could have spread my wings
And done a thousand things I’ve never done before.
I’ll never know What made it so exciting;
Why all at once My heart took flight. I only know when he
Began to dance with me I could have danced,
danced, danced all night!
Beautiful pictures you made to our hero, Nance. And still quite close. Congratulations and thanks.
