Did you catch up on yesterday’s Part One of the Sure Magazine interview with Park Sihoo-ssi from back in 2012?
It made for interesting read or if you have read it previously, it will bring back fond memories.
Today, I share the rest of the article on “Sleepless in Seoul”.
Catch yesterday’s Part One of “Sleepless in Seoul”…

Park Sihoo and Jung Jaeyoung will be the two lead actors in the movie “Confession of Murder” and he was nominated for the Best Actor Award at the end of last year. It was thought that Park Sihoo has matured as an actor.

Did you watch everything? At the end, I wanted to say how much the mould could be broken. (Laugh)
SM: With your acting like how you acted in a drama, this is a great achievement for a first movie. How was it like on the movie set?
In the movie, I am more relaxed with my acting. Sometimes shooting a scene can take all day long. I have the opportunity to think a lot about the scene and act more precisely. Of course, both a movie and a drama have advantages and disadvantages. Even if I am pressed for time for a shoot, sometimes I am satisfied when I actually watch it on TV. If I have a little more time, I can concentrate even more.

SM: What was one of the difficulties you faced in your first movie?
From the start, I have to keep the same emotion for a scene that will lead to another one. Focus and maintain the same emotion from morning until the night.
SM: Is there anything else you need as an actor besides being good at acting?
Yes…perseverance and patience. You need to concentrate.
SM: Do you make an effort to refuel your inner energy which one tends to lose while digesting one’s schedule daily?
Uh, uh… I don’t just focus on my schedule, but also try to enjoy it under the circumstance. I sometimes go out alone to take photos while watching the filming. In Yeosu, where I am filming this time, other than the shooting, I am enjoyed time to do other things. There are many good eating places.
SM: You are not used to drinking?
Will my constitution change? During “Queen of Reversal, there were many opportunities for actors to socialise with one another, but if there were a shoot the next day, it will be a burden to participate. (Laugh)
SM: People who are not familiar with Park Sihoo may recall the drama “How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor.” He is not a star who appeared like a comet. Please share the major events that you can remember during your early years as an actor?
Well… I came to Seoul after hearing from friends about live-in workplaces but they were all mouse lectures? (Nance: Not sure what this means, probably unfounded hearsay) It was popular among my friends at that time. (Laugh) Or live life in a health club or even a theatre company. My uncle used to run a health club and this was a place where I could have room and board. However, when it rained heavily, rainwater sometimes collected.
I grew up well taken care of, but I left home on my own will, so I was a little reluctant to ask (Nance: his parents) for a place to live.
Well… I was in my early 20s, and even if the situation wasn’t fruitful, it will remain a happy year and a half of memories. I was lucky enough to be selected finally to be the main character in the drama.
SM: What kind of scene will be involved in tomorrow’s filming?
A car chase scene. A moving car with the intensity sufficient to overturn it?(Laugh)
SM: You have always mentioned Edward Norton as your favorite actor. It is the same in recent interviews as well. Can I say that he is your role model?
My favorite actor may change, but I just chose the same actor. (Laugh) I didn’t watch all his works. He was very impressive even though I have only watched “Primal Fear” and “American History X”. Since he started acting, he has been very intense. I like the two-sided performance of a character who looks innocent but reveals his inner self. I think I can do it, too.
SM: Can you see that in “Confession of Murder”?
Well… You might be able to see it. You’ll find out when the movie is released. It should be released this spring or summer. You’ll find out then.
Park Sihoo’s favorite Edward Norton’s movie was released more than a decade ago. Norton was born in 1969, and there is an 11-year gap between the two actors.
In the early days of Norton’s debut, he was very impressive with his humorous romance, as if he knew everything about life. There was also a Woody Allen movie “Everyone says I love you.” He was also in “American History X,” which exposed his full anger as Edward Furlong.
In reality, it is difficult to compare Hollywood’s filmography with that of other actors. So what about 10 years from now? It crossed my mind that there could be an actor as good as Norton when gray hair becomes natural.
This was the reporter’s third interview with Park Sihoo, but his answers always made the reporter feel even more curious. Every question the reporter asked, his reply was “Yes”, “Un-hah”… etc. He rarely gave short answers or provide vague explanations compressed in one word. He was descriptive and spoke at length. The interview time of less than an hour was too short for the reporter and Park Sihoo also thought the same.
