Life as popular Korean actor isn’t a bed of roses according to Park Sihoo-ssi in an interview he did back in October 2012 for Newsen.
He found that something as simple as dating is difficult so he has remained single. Hear what our Oppa has to say about this. Read this interview from a long while ago and refresh some memories.

Dating is hard due to preconceptions, so he is currently single
Since his debut, Park Sihoo has built an image of a cool corporate executive who is well mannered and gentlemanly to women. He has also succeeded in transforming his image in the drama “The Princess Man”. He debuted at a slightly late age, but took things one step at a time without rushing. The expressionless expression (Nance: of the serial killer in “Confession of Murder”) gave the impression of intelligence and a cold feeling, and the slight smile was truly a million dollar killer smile. Park Sihoo is much more pleasant, playful, and charming than the reporter had thought.
Park Sihoo is already in his mid-thirties (Nance: at the time of the interviews) so he is old enough to think about marriage and start dating. What is Park Sihoo’s dating style and how does he feel about dating in public?
“My real self is a little different from what my characters are like in the dramas. When I meet people, I am a little blunt and shy at the beginning. However, when I consider that she is my girlfriend, I will go all in. I will do my best and will be a one woman’s man. Honestly, it is hard to find such a relationship where you can be open and show all of yourself. The more well known I get through my works, the more the preconceived perception that Park Sihoo will be like this because he is like that in the drama.”
It is difficult to guess his age with this good looks and solid muscular body. It is natural that he is popular with the ladies but his busy schedule made it difficult for him to find a girlfriend. When he enjoyed the highest popularity as “The Princess Man, he couldn’t even find time to do an interview before starting immediately to film his first movie “Confession of Murder”.
“I haven’t had a girlfriend in years. For a long time in the past, I dated a girl, but since I debuted, I have been very busy. I am saddened that we naturally moved apart. These days I can’t go anywhere. It is a world where (Nance: whatever Park Sihoo does) will be posted on Twitter right away (Nance: Twitter was the most popular social media at that time). I don’t think I can start a relationship at all because the other person will have a hard time. Being a free spirit, it is frustrating. I like to travel, but I can’t do that either. Instead, I travel abroad alone or go out with friends to rest. That’s the only rest I can get.”
“Have an open relationship? (Nance: I think he might be referring to a relationship that is publicity known) I am not against it at all, but I don’t think it will be easy to meet openly when we are not going to get married. Particularly when relationships that are out in the open seem to have a much greater impact on the woman than on the man. It will have a big impact on the woman. I don’t plan to get married right away. My parents are not rushing me as they trust me. I want to do it when I am 39 years old. There are only a few years left.”
“Since I don’t have a girlfriend, I naturally spent more time at home. Fortunately, I am interested in interior design, so I spend time decorating different parts of my home.”
“I like being at home. First of all, I usually rest at home because I am very tired, and I am interested in interior design, so I like to decorate it to make it comfortable. I think I spend a lot of my personal time decorating the interior of the house. At home, I watch a movie or read scripts while listening to music or take soak in the bath (Nance: to ease his tiredness). Or I take a walk casually along the Han River in front of my house. I don’t walk to lose weight, but to keep my body in good shape. I walk for about an hour and a half every day. Also, when I have spare time, I often go to try out good restaurants.”
In real life, he is a man who lives a good life similar to what he has enacted in his dramas. However, in his first movie, he made a radical transformation as a serial killer who killed ten women.
Park Sihoo, who made his movie debut with “Confession of Murder” (Director Jung Byunggil), played Lee Dooseok, the murderer in a serial murder case that terrified the whole country. Two years after the statute of limitations expired, Lee Dooseok published an autobiography on penance for murder, revealing himself as the culprit of the case. His autobiography, which recorded the criminal methods in detail, sold like hot cakes and he became a best-selling author.
With his handsome appearance and gift of the gab, he amassed a huge fan base and became a celebrity overnight. His antagonistic relationship with Detective Choi Hyunggu who was in charge of the case, started again. “Does Park Sihoo make a good serial killer?” Although it is an unexpected combination, Director Jung Byunggil thought Park Sihoo was suitable as the handsome serial killer character.
“I told him I couldn’t do it because I heard the movie will start filming immediately after the filming of my drama “The Princess Man” ended. But I was drawn to it after reading the script. I thought I could show a different side of me with the serial killer character. Working with Jung Jaeyoung really helped me. I had a lot of fun as he took care of me on the set and he is a fun loving senior. My personality is opposite to Jung Jaeyoung, but we got closer and later he became comfortable like a neighborhood brother.”
“Confession of Murder” depicted a showdown between Lee Dooseok (Park Sihoo), a serial killer who became a celebrity, and Choi Hyunggu (Jung Jaeyoung), a detective who tried to capture Lee Dooseok by digging into an unsolved murder case. The autobiography is similar to the Saga Itsei story of a cannibal who created a stir in Japan in the past. The movie was released in November 2012.
