Park Sihoo-ssi, can he make a great Korean kimchi?
Park Sihoo-ssi had to show his talent or his inept, as the case may be, when it came to his culinary skills in the various roles he played in some of his dramas and movies. Do you remember some of these scenes?
In “Prosecutor Princess”, his Seo Inwoo is not only a good lawyer but a good cook as well. At least he can make a mean ramen and delicious and beautifully decorated sushi. He taught the totally clueless Ma Hyeri how to whip up a quick and appetising one bowl ramen. And when she was all enthused about a date with her boss, he graciously helped her to prepare her picnic sushi rolls.

Now, his Injun in the movie, “Scent” was definitely a handy man-about-the-house who not only cleaned and laundry but was also a fantastic cook! Injun’s signature coffee has become famous in China and Japan. And coffee was but one of the things he could make. He cooked wonderful breakfasts, dinners and can even make his own kimchi! No doubt he put his heart and soul as he whipped up his scrumptious meals!
And in the micro-movie “Haru”, as a spy under the cover of a restauranteur, Park Sihoo-ssi was obviously a fantastic chef. He would painstakingly cook a delectable, scrumptious meal for the enjoyment of his girlfriend, without knowing that she was a fellow spy!
But Lee Kangsuk in “Family Honor” had never had to grace the kitchen with his presence, even to make coffee! His mother must have taken good care of the family when he was young and when they became rich, the housekeeper took care of everything. That was why he was taken aback to be asked to help with the menial task of making noodles in Ha Dana’s home. But what to do? If you have to woo a woman, you would go all out to meet her and her family’s expectations!
And obviously, our Goo Yongsik in “Queen of Reversal” was a total alien in the kitchen. An alien with culinary inclinations? Not likely! So, as can be expected, when his secretary proposed that he invited his team for dinner and that he cooked, neither of them had any idea where to start and how long it would take to shop and cook! Hwang Taehee had to save the day and she dived right in, saving her team from going hungry!

In real life, is Park Sihoo-ssi a good cook? My verdict? Nope!
I have only seen him decorate a few cookies with chocolate icing during the 2015 Shanghai Fan Meeting and cook pasta during the Yokohama leg of his 2014 Japan Fan Meeting, both times on stage. Going by the reactions of some of his fans, he put up a good show but his cooking wasn’t fabulous. At the rate he was sprinkling salt and pepper in his pasta, I would venture to say, way too much salt and pepper 🙂 Even his mother said that in the KBS Star Life Theatre feature!
But then, anything personally cooked by Park Sihoo-ssi, I am sure his staunchest fans will not say “nay” to eat.

在“检察官公主”，他演的徐仁宇不仅是一位优秀的律师，还是一位好厨师呢。至少他可以做出一碗美味的拉面和味道鲜美，装饰精致的寿司。他教那对厨艺完全无能的马惠丽如何快速掀起一碗开胃的拉面。而当她兴高采烈的期待着跟她的老板约会时，他殷勤地帮她准备她的野餐寿司卷。

在他的电影”香气”里的仁俊，绝对是一位对家政得心应手的男生。清洁打理房子，洗衣烫衣，还有烹饪美味佳肴。他最拿手的招牌仁俊咖啡已经著名疯魔中国和日本！除了可口咖啡，他可以烧出美味早餐，晚餐，甚至可以自己做泡菜！毫无疑问，他把他的心思都放在他的厨艺里，才能烧出那么美味的菜肴！

而在微电影“Haru”里，作为特工以餐馆厨师隐藏身份，施厚君显然是一位梦幻般的厨师。他会刻意掀起美味的一餐，让他的女友品尝，但他并不知道她同样也是一位特工！

但在“家门的荣光”里的李江石，从来没有踏进厨房，甚至不会泡咖啡！在他年轻的时候，由他的母亲照顾好家庭。当他们富有时，家务由管家来打理。这就是为什么当何丹雅的二哥要求他帮做面条时，他非常震惊。但是，该怎么办呢？如果你要给未来妻子的家人留下深刻的印象时，你会硬着头皮去做，以满足她和她的家人的期待！
很明显的，在“逆转女王”里的具勇植对厨房和烹饪是完全一无所知。当他的秘书提议他邀请他的团队一起到家里吃饭，由他来烧菜时，他和秘书都不知道该从那里开始，需要多长时间购物和做饭！幸好黄泰熙一看不妙，就直接下厨做饭，挽救大局，不让团队挨饿！
在现实生活中，施厚君是否擅长做饭？我的结论？不是！

我只是看过他在2015年上海粉丝见面会中，用巧克力装饰几块饼干。还有在2014年日本横滨粉丝见面会时，煮简单的面食。他展示得非常专业，可是看到被选中去品尝他的“美味佳肴”的粉丝的反应，我觉得他的厨艺顶多只是一般。看他在面食里不断的撒着盐和胡椒，我冒昧地说，应该是太多的盐和胡椒啦 🙂 连他的母亲在KBS明星生活剧场里也这么说！
不过，只要是施厚君亲自烹饪的，我相信他最坚定的厚粉是不会拒绝品尝的！

PSH loves good food and everything involved with food. And he loves the fun of it. I think he loves cooking , although he doesn’t cook very much, or has no time for cooking. But he likes cooking and eating with those he loves and cares for.And we have tagible evidence with him cooking for his crew members of the movie “Scent” or “LAL’ If he is a good chef I don’t know, because I was not invited at a dinner prepared by him. But if I should be invited, I’ll be very happy and I’ll eat everything he has cooked. Because I know that no matter how good a chef you are, it’s not good cooking for yourself, the joy is in cooking for others. As PSH likes to do!
