Being committed
I strongly believe that in our work or personal life, we have to be committed, work hard and put in a lot of love into everything we do. It’s all about values and attitude.
A couple of Korean stars were given the flak by various media recently. They were chastised for not taking professional pride in their work and for not being committed to their fans. They acted like prima donnas who thought they could get away with anything just because they were “stars”.
According to the reports, these stars don’t work hard and were totally uncommitted. They have no respect for their fans and take them for granted! One had the audacity to hold a fan meeting and not prepare for it. He must have thought fans could be taken for a ride, to pay good money for non-peformance! Another discarded his fans’ gifts because they were not branded goods and treated them like rubbish!
Park Sihoo-ssi knows better. He takes a lot of professional pride in whatever he does and has strong work ethics. He will constantly rehearse till he is satisfied and confident that he can deliver his best performance. We know of countless occasions when he would sacrifice sleep and work into the wee hours to get things to perfection. This is what makes the difference. He is a professional through and through, one who takes great pride and responsibility in delivering to his best ability and thrives on outperforming himself!
He loves his fans and consider them his No 1 treasure. He knows their loyalty is so very precious, hard earned and had to be treasured, loved and respected. He has never misbehaved in public nor in the presence of his fans and is always so polite and respectful!
He treasures gifts from his fans, no matter how big or small. I remember when he was in China filming his movie “Scent”, his minder revealed that he kept all of his fans’ gifts, spending several thousand dollars in excess baggage to lug them home! We saw that in Miyazaki too 🙂 From the glimpses into his lifestyle, it is not about the monetary value but knowing that every gift comes from the heart, which is infinitely more precious, in fact priceless!
Committment to work and fans are reflections of what a star values most! And I love that our man knows what are the important things in his life!
