Lovely Horribly Christmas everyone!
Caution: Long article and only in English as it was in the wee hours of this morning that I managed to finish it! No photography was allowed during the event except the one minute free for all session, so you will not see anything taken of the event except where allowed.
Did our sisters who attended the “Park Sihoo Premium Event for Chinese in Jeju 2018” have a “Lovely Horribly” early Christmas last night? I think the views must have been unanimously “Yes”!
Why? Because our favorite man looked so dashingly good and he was at his most relaxed. Even then, he was conscious to deliver an enjoyable evening for his ladies and made changes as it went to the program so that it flowed better and smoother. Altogether, it was a somewhat informal evening even though our man started off wearing a formal suit! Love it? Indeed!
At close to seven, the lights dimmed and a special video clip of footages from Park Sihoo-ssi’s drama “Lovely Horribly 러블리 호러블리” and his past events were played to “spooky” background music. It drew to a culmination with “All I want for Christmas is you…!” And led by the emcee, the audience called out to Park Sihoo-ssi in Chinese “朴施厚”!
Out came our man ala Jean Thierry Cha of his drama “Cheongdamdong Alice”, with his blue velvet jacket over dark grey shirt and pants, a chocolate polka-dotted bow tie, a matching pocket square and black leather shoes. As suave as ever, he moved from table to table, greeting everyone individually and giving each a Christmas gift of an “apple bark” pendant with his signature and the event logo engraved. A pendant for luck like that shared between his Philip Yu and Oh Eulsun. Right on, the “Lovely Horribly러블리 호러블리” theme!
Everyone echoed that it was sheer happiness to see him every time. And Park Sihoo-ssi shared that whenever he came to Jeju, he always thought of the familiar faces of his fans and the happy memories they had together. He hoped that yesterday evening would be another occasion to add to their precious memories.
He welcomed his fans from China and Japan (and Park Sihoo-ssi, please remember there were others too, like Singapore!). This was the third Chinese event being held. He was thankful to everyone for their love and support over the years. He remembers the faces of those who came regularly to his events and liked it that have become close like a family. He wanted to repay the love of his fans with happy memories.
The evening’s decoration was very much “Lovely Horribly러블리 호러블리” themed and he hoped that everyone would be set in its “spooky, romantic” mood!
His character in the drama “Lovely Horribly 러블리 호러블리” was different from his previous roles and the production took around 5-6 months. There were times which were most difficult and things not smooth sailing. He was most thankful to have his fans being there supporting and cheering him on.
After the completion of each of his projects, he usually takes a few months’ rest but this time, a piece of good work came along the he did not want to give it a miss. As such, he could only rest for about a month before he starts filming again. As always he appreciated his fans for giving him the drive and energy to move forward.
Park Sihoo-ssi generously shared his holiday photos in Bangkok. Precious moments like when he took to playing virtual reality VR games with youngsters, many strangers, challenging and being challenged in a 3D laser role playing shootout. He loved to play games. As a youngster, his games were played with “weapons” made from wood but now, it has become so high-tech that he was not shy to say he got “KO”ed a number of times! Beaten by the younger crowd!
He loves street food and particularly shared his experience in Bangkok drinking watermelon juice and indulging in rice noodles from his favorite street stall. He thought street food tasted much better than those in the five star hotels! That I absolutely agree! The best food are those frequented by the locals, do as the locals do…but be extra careful on the stomach!
During his travels, he usually takes photos of the scenery and not of himself. And he shared some of the sights he took of Bangkok like the Grand Palace, the art museum and the park by the river where he exercised daily, running around 20 km or 10 rounds of the park. And of course, he also had to show us photos of himself enjoying himself like cooling off in the pool, one that looked like he has just woken up and another fooling around with wall art.
He is totally conscious that he needed to look good on camera and being slimmer would do that. So he exercises daily. The day before, he went for a walk for about 3 hours with his manager and he planned to do the same yesterday night. He certainly wanted to look good for his new drama “Babel바벨” as his character Prosecutor Cha Woohyuk is, in his words or the likes “attractive, sexy and temperamental”! Now, this will certainly whet our appetite and I look forward to catching the drama, come January 2019!
Script reading has been completed last week and next Wednesday, he will start filming! To give him the drive and the energy, Park Sihoo-ssi led us on chanting “fighting, fighting, fighting” across the room!
Then it was game time! Who wanted to be Park Sihoo-ssi’s co-stars in “Lovely Horribly러블리 호러블리”. Two most memorable and “sexy” scenes…drum roll…the “Careless Whisper” scene and the “Haircut scene”. You got it? Two ladies were picked…and they, with Park Sihoo-ssi had to learn the script…wait! The scripts, they were different! Hehehe! That’s right! Someone changed it…and they were not what everyone expected! Hahaha! The ladies were good spots and they got hugs from their co-star when all’s wrapped up!
Then it was Santa Sihoo’s gift segment! He was giving away 3 seconds of hugs, high-fives, massages, hand holding, selfies etc…if you drew the right gifts. Otherwise, sorry, you sing for him or tell him you love him! Our table? We were lucky. We got the 3-second hand holding! Yeah!
Then as Park Sihoo-ssi took a break to have a change of costume, we watched a most interesting behind-the-scene video of the different scenes in “Lovely Horribly러블리 호러블리” being filmed. Catch these on Park Sihoo TV! That’s right, like on TV, between segments, they have commercial breaks. So too last night…and it was selling Park Sihoo TV! But where were his girls Jami and Dami? Lazy cats! They were no where is sight!
Then we called out “Park Sihoo” in Chinese and out came our man, adorning his light blue rip off jeans and a woolen “christmassy” top and white sneakers. His first tasks after his costume change was to play three games with his fans and if they won, he would take a group photo with those seated at their tables. Well, this when when Park Sihoo-ssi had to exert his “authority”. As the games were getting to be draggy and we couldn’t understand, he played “Santa” by cutting them short and graciously took photos with all three groups.
Then he chose two cards hanging from the Christmas tree. They were Christmas cards from his fans and he gave the two winning ladies Christmas cards from him with his personal messages.
Lastly he sang us all a song “When the wind blows” before we took one-on-one photos with him. Then closing off, he said his goodbye. He enjoyed the close proximity and interactions with us, playing games and chatting. He promised to work hard to deliver a good drama after returning to Seoul and asked that we continued to support and love him. He would see us again next year!
Many thanks, Park Sihoo-ssi for a most enjoyable evening as always! You know we will be right there by your side and we look forward to your next drama “Babel바벨”. We certainly can’t wait to watch the very attractive, sexy and temperamental Prosecutor Cha Woohyuk!
Have a lovely horribly Christmas Park Sihoo-ssi and all our sisters around the world! Hohoho! There goes Santa Sihoo!
And I am so ready for bed! Got to get up early for my flight tomorrow and it is already way past my bedtime! Good night! Or should I say “Good morning”!
