Sweets for our sweet Park Sihoo-ssi

During my childhood days, my grandfather with his whole brood of children and their children live together in a village home. I should say, very much like Park Sihoo-ssi did in his ancestral home, with big exceptions, of course. We are not Koreans, obviously! We were not landowners and I believe we were a much bigger family. But the concept of one big family under one roof is the same.

My young uncles, then, love their music and they like to spin their vinyl records and blast the neighbourhood with loud music. So impressionable me, I grew up on a diet of oldies but goodies 🙂 And one of my uncles’ all time favourites was “Sweets for my sweet”, which was originally sang by the Drifters but has had so many remakes since then. Don’t ask me which version my uncles love, I was way too young then to know. My uncles would play that song all day long. So certain parts of the lyrics stuck with me….”Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey…”

Park Sihoo-ssi’s Lee Kangsuk in “Family Honor” thought “Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey” pretty cool and he did just that. He was making coffee for his family while they were playing cards late into the night. And he added an extra dose of sugar for his honey, Ha Dana, showing his love and affection for his new bride.

But thinking again, this concept of “Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey” is pretty universal actually. Most of us simply give people we like gifts of sweets.

We know that Park Sihoo-ssi has a sweet tooth. He has been spotted on several occasions with a lolly in his mouth that some have mistaken for a cigarette! No Park Sihoo-ssi doesn’t smoke in case some of you are wondering! He’s one good boy with hardly any bad habits :).  

Park Sihoo-ssi’s fans simply love to shower him with sweets to show him their love and affection. I have seen huge bouquets of Chuppa Chump lollies being presented to Park Sihoo-ssi during fan meetings. And of course other sweets of candies, chocolates, cakes and cookies!  

Certainly very traditional “Sweets for our sweet, sugar for our honey”! But careful there…we don’t want our Park Sihoo-ssi rolly with lolly and becoming diabetic from an overdose of sweets 🙂 We want a healthy and fit man whom we can love for a very, very long time to come! 🙂

糖果献给我的甜蜜

在我童年时，我的祖父，他的孩子们和他的孙子们都一起住在一座农村屋里。我应该说，非常像施厚君他的祖籍家，但有大例外，当然。很明显我们不是韩国人！我们也不是地主。我相信我们是一个更大的家庭。但是，一个大家族在一个屋檐下的概念是相同的。

我年轻的叔叔们，热爱听音乐，喜欢旋转着黑胶唱片，播放着爆炸性的音响，吵着左邻右舍。所以，我从小接触到一些老，但好的歌曲:) 我叔叔们特爱一首Drifters 浪花兄弟唱的歌曲“糖果献给我的甜蜜 Sweets for my sweet”。他们可以一整天将它播放着不停。这首歌的歌词已牢记在我脑海中了…“糖果献给我的甜蜜，糖献给我的甜心 Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey…”

施厚君的李江石在“家门的荣光”里也有同感的“糖果献给我的甜蜜，糖献给我的甜心 Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey…”，他在深夜泡咖啡给正打花牌的家人时，特意加了额外的一勺糖给他的甜蜜何丹雅，表示他对他的新娘的热爱和亲情。

但反复思考，“糖果献给我的甜蜜，糖献给我的甜心 Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey…”的概念实际上是相当普遍。我们大多数人会送给我们喜欢的人一些甜食为礼物。

我们都知道施厚君特别喜欢甜食。好多次看到他嘴里叼着一个棒棒糖，有些人还误以为是烟呢！我们的施厚君是不抽烟的！他几乎没有什么不良习惯，是个好孩子 :)。

施厚君的厚粉们爱送给他糖果向他表示对他的怜爱。好多次看厚粉们献给他一大Chuppa Chump棒棒糖花束。还有其他糖果，巧克力，蛋糕和饼干等甜食！

送糖果是非常传统的“糖果献给我的甜蜜，糖献给我的甜心 Sweets for my sweet, sugar for my honey…” 的形式。但当心哦……我们不要给太多糖果给我们的糖心，不然我们的厚小白会变成厚大白啦，还可能会得糖尿病呢 🙂 我们希望有一个健康的厚小白陪伴我们一生呢！;)
