“I wanted to try acting as a psychopath”
Park Sihoo, the “Crown Prince of TV Dramas” who captivated TV audience with his romantic charm, has transformed into an attractive serial killer.
He played Lee Dooseok, a serial killer who made the world go buzz 15 years ago in the movie “Confession of Murder” (Director Jung Byunggil). It showed that he could act “the bad man Park Sihoo,” and not just “Prince Park Sihoo by going back and forth between good and evil.”
Park Sihoo made his wish come true through this movie. He, had expressed his willingness to play a role of a serial killer or psychopath and finally quenched his thirst for this in the form of Lee Dooseok.
Lee Dooseok was a character who came to him as fate would have it. When he filmed the drama “The Princess Man” last year, he received the script of “Confession of Murder”. He had originally planned to take a break after finishing the filming of the drama and did not consider “Confession of Murder”.
Park Sihoo said, “I thought I would go travelling for about two months after the filming of the drama and recharge. So when the script first came, I didn’t even read it. I thought whatever it is, I am going to take some rest. Then when I heard the content for the first time, my ears were ringing with temptation. I said, “Give me the script.” Honestly, it was difficult to read the script as I was in the midst of filming “The Princess’ Man” at that time. But I read it because the content was unique. The story was solid and the character was strong.”
He continued, “It was a character I really wanted to play. I wanted to do a lot of psychopaths or two-faced character acting. After reading the script, I became greedy. However, I was told that the filming would start two days after I wrap up filming of the drama. I was worried, but I chose it because I wanted to participate in this work that is close to my heart. Also because I would wonder when I would come across this kind of role again.”
As a story flowing in the industry, “Confession of Murder” scored a first. Even before its premiere, word-of-mouth had already been circulating that the movie turned out well.
Rookie movie actor Park Sihoo was planning to pursue another dream if this movie were loved by critics and audiences.

He said, “Until I got a casting offer for “Confession of Murder”, no roles like those of serial killers or psychopaths came my way. I have only been in dramas so far, and it is hard for such characters to be featured in dramas. If this work turn out well, I want to challenge a noir-like film next.”
Park Sihoo’s transformation into a serial killer is a movie about a showdown between a serial killer who became a star after 15 years of statute of limitations and a detective (Jung Jaeyoung) struggling to catch him. It was scheduled to be released on the 8 November 2012.
