I remember my days as a child and a children’s song we used to sing in school “Planting Rice”. While I cannot recall the lyrics of the entire song, I remember well this part:
“Planting rice is never fun
Bent from morn till the set of sun,
Cannot stand and cannot sit,
Cannot rest for a little bit.”
Growing up in Asia, with rice being a staple food, I believe most, if not all of us, are familiar with how this is grown. In the wet and soggy paddy fields, with farmers having to manually plant each stalk in ankle deep water, back bent all day long.
So every grain of rice, even though small, is the fruit of backbreaking labour! Every grain is sweet and precious and should be treasured.
At the press conference of KBS drama “My Golden Life”, Park Sihoo-ssi’s fans from all over the world generously gave the gift of rice to celebrate his return to mainstream Korean television broadcast. These would then be donated to the needy at the choice of Park Sihoo-ssi. A total of 3,610kg of these precious grains were donated by Park Sihoo-ssi fans out of the total 3,770kg donated for the press conference. A lot of meals that can be prepared!
Park Sihoo-ssi made a generous gift of rice donation to Networks 네트워크, a social welfare organisation recently. Among its welfare services, is the organisation’s program to provide free lunch for elderly people and city workers who are over 60 years old from below average income families.
So the rice from Park Sihoo-ssi’s “My Golden Life” press conference will be a much welcomed gift at Chuseok for the elderly! And a most meaningful one!

“It is important that what thoughts you are feeding into your mind ,,because your thoughts creat belief and experiences. You have positive thoughts and negative ones. Nurture your mind with positive thoughts: kindness, empathy, compassion, peace, love, joy, humility, generosity, etc. The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things into your life.”[Roy Bennett :”Light in Your Heart”]
Park Si Hoo having only positive thoughts in his mind, with his generosity , he knows that :Giving a bowl of rice to a man, he can feed him for a day”[Confucius] .Park Si Hoo knows that the true generosity means that even giving his all, he will always feels as if this costs him nothing. Park Si Hoo thinks that he has not lived today until he has done something for someone. On Chuseok he feels happy , and celebrates this importand day, when many people can eat a bowl of rice from his generous donations . HAPPY CHUSEOCK FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY , PARK SI HOO!
In connection with his consistent practice of generosity over the years I can’t help but speculate that he being a descendant of a family with noble ancestry, he could have been influenced to act honourably and generously towards others in particular those less fortunate in society. A case of “Noblesse Oblige” ingrained in him to think and act so? Food for thought 💭 🤔💭

Happy Mid-Autumn festival everyone! It is great to see PSH back on the small screen. I am enjoying the drama tremendously, especially the little adventure in Namdaemun market. Our elegant PSH stands out like a sore thumb in his beautiful suit.
Welcome, Junnie! Hope you had a great mid autumn festival too! Yes, we are so happy to have Park Sihoo-ssi back on mainstream Korean drama and he is making the impact. And we will see more of him as he said in the Jeju event at the beginning of Sep 2017. Hope that fans who supported him in the past will catch up on his new drama and that new ones will come on board,
Hello Yunnie Chong, Indeed, it’s a great pleasure to have Park Sihoo’s drama on our tv every weekend. What a joy. Yes, although I have not reached the episode of Namdaemun market, I have caught glimpse of him in his prestine suit with his flying kick, that is really captivating. I am glad the director ensures such a high kick scene is filmed for a chaebol son.
Thank you, parksihoossi and Chai Hua Loke. I have always supported PSH, through thick and thin. I’ve enjoyed reading all your thoughts. I don’t have a lot to say normally, so I will be happy to just contribute now and then. Keep up the good work, Nance! My current joy for the weekend is to catch the subbed episodes at breakfast. I am surprised and admire how fast the subbers work as I live hours ahead of SKorea and it would still be early morning wherever they are. Nevertheless, I am grateful to them.
