Electronics make you eat! Yikes!
I was reading an article the other day and they cited a study that was published in the the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that concluded that electronics make you eat! It seemed that when you watch TV or do something on your mobile or iPad while you eat, you get distracted and not pay attention to what you eat. The result? You tend to overeat…as much as 33% more if I remember correctly. If you slow down and enjoy your food, you can take control of your intake!
Geez! Not a good thing to know as this is exactly what I do all the time. Eat as I work. Maybe the conclusion of “electronics make you eat” is true in my situation. Doing my office work during working hours and then working at all hours on ParkSihooSsi.com and ParkSihooHongKong.com on my laptop, mobile and iPad, I get triple whammy! No wonder it is so difficult to get my weight down…because I eat and work and I don’t even notice what or how much I eat due to the distraction!
So it is all your fault Park Sihoo-ssi if I am what I am now…working hard for you and using electronics all the time is the cause of my weight woes! Kekeke! 😄

@knapavalley all in the same boat 🚣♂️
@dorothyooi @knapavalley We all have the same bad habits…goes with the lifestyle…i can’t find the exact article i read, but here’s something similar. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/distracted-eating-may-add-to-weight-gain-201303296037
@parksihoossi Right! I’m reading the article from Harvard smart people you mentioned. Thanks!
@knapavalley Kekeke! How smart, these academics, I don’t know!
To eat in front of the electronics is a bad habit, but sooo pleasant! In this way we believe we have gained time. But, because we are let us “in the arms of pleasure” and because we don’t allocate a bit of our precious time for eat, the calories get avenging, clinging to us and “begging” little attention. This way we get to the gym at best, or we get used to living with that little calories. I think this habit is part of our innocent pleasures, in a thrilling life. It’s important to have around us, when we sitting in front of the electronics, a limited quantities with even few calories (those mischievous animals that lie down on us). Or we must be determined and follow Park Si Hoo-ssi’s advice from his first photo on Instagram: “Bad habits must die”.😊
Very impressed that you remember his advice from his first photo on his personal ig account!
Yes, bad habits must die….starting tomorrow! Kekeke! 🤣🤣🤣
Park Sihoo-ssi 박시후-씨 朴施厚君 Sure ? Sure or not? 😅😂
Dorothy Ooi See what happens tomorrow…read tomorrow’s article! Kekeke! 😄🤣😘
I can’t remember the actual article I read, which was as while back but this link to an article on the same subject kind of have the same conclusion…about distracted eating…https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/distracted-eating-may-add-to-weight-gain-201303296037
Park Sihoo-ssi 박시후-씨 朴施厚君 Ironically, this comment of this smart people’s blog caught my attention : written by someone… “” Most of the people I see spend most of their lives worrying about their own version of crooked stitches—the size of their thighs, their hips, their abdomens. As if those things signify something true or real about their lives. As if when we get to the end of our lives, a number on a scale will mean anything at all.”” So this sums up my own view and philosophy, do what you think is sensible and reasonable, and not be overly concerned about the effect of eating with electronics company. In my personal opinion, electronics company is advantageous to me, which also included in the scientific evidence that I am eating slowly with electronics company. Human company on the other hand sometimes caused me to hurry up because my slow eating is holding back others into their 2nd course. So ?
“Bad habits must die.” Yes, Park SI Hoo, you are right. But such a “bad habit ” of being distracted by the internet is not for me. I’m in competition with the time and every minute , second counts very much for me. Why should I lose time while eating, when I can gain this time also for getting information with the latest news. There is a popular advice :”Replace a bad habit with a good one.” For me it doesn’t work , as I think my “bad habit” of watching the internet while I eat is necessary, pleasant and useful. Being single , I take my computer as my companion, using it while eating and it has a positive return. I get the early information about Park Si Hoo from the blog ParkSihoo-ssi.com, Facebook, Instagram a.s.o and I think as long as I live the purpose of my life is to be useful and need this so called “bad habit” bring me positive results. But , don’t take my example, because at my age this is allowed . If you want to make yourself useful during the little time you’ve been granted on this planet, you need a different lifestyle. You need to take care of your body and mind: sleep well, eat healthy, work out, reflect on your lives and most importantly:”Be someone others can count on you. Because you can’t do that with bad habits.”. Yes, Park SI Hoo. “Bad habits must die!”
Absolutely right Stefania Lupu. Time is just too precious to be wasted. If you can multi-task, why not! 😘😘😘
Time is certainly a good point to be multitasking of eating and watching screens, achieving more than one task at the same time. Nevertheless to me, the opportunities foregone is more of the reason I want to do both; watching and eating at the same time. Some of the things presented at those moments will not repeat if I don’t catch them. It is because I electronically ate as a routine every day at that hour that’s why I stumbled upon QOR and stumbled upon PSH. This fact alone crushed every other argument of bad habits of eating and watching screen. The other thing is most of us would have prepared the same amount of food to be consumed before we sit in front of the screen, it won’t be a case of grabbing for more to eat just because our mind wasn’t focus on the food and ended up with higher consumption. In actual fact, the advantage of eating with electronics company means I get to enjoy eating slowly, properly chewed them instead of hurriedly eating with the mind thinking about what’s the next task after eating. As long as we don’t bring the eating with electronics habit to the table when we are eating with others, when we ought to be focus on human company, I absolutely support, as Stefania said time is precious and when we eat alone, we want to maximise our time value, to me, it is while eating that I caught up with replying personal messages, news, and as in that life changing chapter when I stumbled upon QOR, eating with electronics changed history. Not a bad habit at all.
Chai Hua Loke I think most of us will take the route of multi-tasking anytime…,time is just too precious to waste!
😚💋💗💓💗💓💗💓💗💓💗
I would not change this habit for a million years all because it was while eating and mindlessly watching TV when I stumbled upon Queen of Reversal and led to discovery of Park Sihoo ssi. The best habit I have had 😉which guided me to a history rewritten chapter of my life.
P.s. sometimes the smart people’s theory only good and useful to themselves, I much prefer my not smart enough way of living and thinking 🤣
