Today, the Chinese among our sisters will be celebrating! It’s the dumpling festival or duanwu festival 端午节! Time for families to indulge in an annual feast!
For the traditional homes, they will be making these bundles of joy ahead of time. A real labour of love taking hours, if not at least a day from shopping the ingredients, soaking the rice, cleaning the bamboo leaves, cutting and marinating and frying the ingredients, wrapping them and then cooking them for hours! Backbreaking but oh, such delicious outcome! Just thinking of these delectable yummies make my mouth water!
Got to go out and see if I can get any out in the shops! I haven’t bought mine yet…yes, I go for the modern, I skip the hard labour! Hahaha!

今天,我们当中有中国传统的姐妹们将会庆祝! 今天是端午节,是每年粽子盛宴的时侯!
通常较传统的家庭会提前包粽子。 这可是真正的爱的劳动,需要好几个小时,甚至一整天时间,从购买材料,浸泡糯米,洗干净竹叶,切割腌制材料,包扎粽子,然后煮好几个小时! 非常幸苦,但成果是多么的美味! 想到这些美味的粽子,我的口水都快流啦!
得赶紧出去看看商店还有得粽子卖吗! 我还没买呢!是的,好久没有自己绑粽子了,觉得太幸苦,所以偷懒了!哈哈哈!
祝庆端午节的姐妹们“端午节快乐”! 吃多点粽子噢! 接下来,要有足够的力气为我们的厚厚助威啊!

Oh, so today is the day for this festival? I have absolute no idea until I read your article hahaha. See the other advantage of being a PSH’s fan is to be reminded of my own culture, my own tradition. If not I wouldn’t even know this day has come and gone. I love eating these sinful difficult to digest glutinuous rice dumplings, Chinese doctors have long warned me to stay off glutinuous rice as my digestive system is not tip top, still anytime I come near anything made with glutinuous rice, I will go for it. Perhaps I should go soak some now and make my short cut dumplings with similar ingredients but minus the bamboo leaves wrapping. Nance I wish you a Happy Tuan Wu Chet, and that you can get the type of dumplings that you like, whether savoury or sweet with red beans or the alkaline ones that you can dip with some kind of chutney or jam, or maybe you might find that half bluish colour Nyonya recipe dumplings that I came across just 2 nights ago and then saw you forwarded similar video to me.
