So, the editors of K-Wave were very nice, they posted a teaser of the November 2015 Chinese edition of the K-Wave magazine with Park Sihoo-ssi on the cover. The printed copy that is, teasing us with some of the inside pages, including a couple with glimpses of the interview – in Korean and in Chinese.
What did the magazine say? Many non-Chinese and non Korean fans have been asking. I understand that the coverage on Park Sihoo-ssi is 12 pages, so what we see is very little – a real teaser 🙂
But here’s a gist of what was revealed on the uncovered Chinese page…
Park Sihoo-ssi has been busy filming his new drama series OCN’s “Neighborhood Hero” which is scheduled to go on air next year. Returning after a long absence from domestic activities, he felt lucky to have the opportunity to work with first class directors, actors and crew.
He revealed that the drama is about revenge, but in the course of it, the lead character gradually learnt and understood about things and evolved into a local, neighborhood hero. His character is a stranger in a new neighbourhood and needed time to find his footing with his new neighbors.
The cast and crew have a good working atmosphere Having had the chance to meet at the script reading session and over a meal. While they are not familiar with one another, they have grown closer, more like the brother next door. In the drama, he is expected to dance tango with Yuri and he complimented her for her diligence in getting this dance perfect.
Park Sihoo has been keeping fit even though he has been busy. He walks daily for 3 hours at the Hangang River near his home. You can usually find him there around 11pm at night! He teased that if you wanted to see him at that time, go to Cheongdamdong Dam 🙂
One thing that surprised me in the interview was that he said he does not like change, whether of appearance or heart…hmm! When asked what has changed in the 10 years he has been an actor, he said that previously, he had no fans and was envious of those Japanese fans cheering for other actors. Now he has his own following.
The interviewer shared that actors find it difficult to find happiness, how did he pursue this? Park Sihoo-ssi said that he invested a lot on himself, in terms of time, thinking what to do to be happy and has been actively pursuing happiness. He shared that actors faced many restrictions, unlike when one was nameless. So, he pursues his loves – exercise, food or cuisines and travel whenever he has time when he finishes a project.
There were more of the interview, but the editor did not share this…so please get your very own copy of K-Wave November 2015 Chinese edition with Park Sihoo-ssi gracing that front cover!

He did not or does not like change? Hmm. . The saying that :”Change is the most permanent thing in this world”
Accident don’t know how I got that face on….Apologies
Chai Hua Loke Most observant! It should be “He does not like….” Apologies…article was written this morning in a rush on a moving subway train…:) But that statement got me puzzled. Is not what I expect Park Sihoo-ssi to be. Hmmm…
Understand Nance, I myself post lots of boo boo too accidents, dim light, old eyes, fat fingers, mobile phone changes typing. I am very puzzled too that he does not like change, as I said the most permanent thing in our lifetime or in this world is nothing other than change itself. We got to embrace and liking change. Perhaps inaccurate translation of the magazine did not capture what he actually meant. I don’t believe he does not like change, change of heart of course noone likes the ever changing heart so that bit is fully understood, but change of appearance could mean anything depending on the context he is referring to.
Thank you very mach for sharing.
You are most welcome!
