Dirty politics thrives in the Joseon court
I believe all of us know how dirty politics can be. When power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It has been like this ever since time immemorial and no different in Park Sihoo-ssi’s historical drama “Wind, Cloud and Rain (King Maker: Change of Destiny) 바람과 구름과 비”.
Park Sihoo-ssi’s Choi Cheonjung is an idealist who always put the people of Joseon first. And with his enemy Heungseon Daewongun Lee Haeung offering him an olive branch of making a future for the people, he could not say no. However, a tiger can’t change its stripes. With the absolute power he holds over all of Joseon, Lee Haeung continued to be the tyrant that is inherent in him. His play of politics is so dirty, no one can beat him.
Lee Haeung’s suppression will spur Queen Myeongseong to retaliate
Oh, but maybe there is someone. Queen Myeongseong, his daughter-in-law. Now, she is another political animal. Originally thought by Choi Cheonjung to be caring for the people of Joseon, her views changed after being suppressed by her father-in-law. Watched the episode 20, but not understanding the langage, I focused on the action. And I remained very confused, very shocked, very upset and very unhappy. The most umpleasant moment was when I saw Choi Cheojung kneeling in front of Heungseon Daewongun Lee Haeung. Another one when , and I was angry, when Choi Cheonung released Chea Inkyu, his enemy, from being beheaded. If Choi Cheonjung will shot to death, as I saw in the preview of ep. 21, I’ll be be very sad.
CCJ let go of CIK for a strategic reason because he know the lay of the land in Gwanghua Island, so he was useful to help Joseon defeat the Freanch. CCJ is also not someone who look to kill, unless absolutely. He thinks CIK will stay in Gwanghua afterwards. It is also a good decision because CIK helped to save LBR and his son from LHE. The real enemy for CCJ is LHE
I hope for a happy ending…and a new series as soon as possible!
