When it comes to fashion, I get a big fat “F” for “fail” each and every time. Fashion or brand isn’t something I pay much attention to. Being a practical person, brands aren’t that important to me, I would go for comfort over everything else. To me, plain, simple and light suit me best. So don’t ask me anything about fashion and the latest trend. And definitely not men’s fashion. I have no clue and definitely no words of wisdom to offer on that subject. Hahaha! 🙂
When it comes to Park Sihoo-ssi, I am amazed how some of our sisters are such quick and thorough detectives. They can size up what he wore almost instantly. And it seems recently he is fuelled by Diesel!
This nifty Italian brand is known for its denim range of jeans and jackets, design tees, its surreal and somewhat provocative advertising and “Only the brave” range of fashion. “Only the brave” happens also to be the name of its holding or parent company, signifying its courageous stance to break away from the norm.
Doesn’t this sound like someone we know?
Park Sihoo-ssi seems to like being fuelled by Diesel; the brand appeals to him. He has been caught on many occasions sporting something from this Italian fashion brand. The most recent being its signature “Only the brave” tee-shirt. I am not absolutely certain, as I have no fashion sense, but one of his favorite ripped jeans just might be fuelled by Diesel power too 🙂
And going with his fashion passion, I picked Diesel to power pack his birthday present this year. Not a fashion trendsetter, I hope that my picks hold some appeal for this man of fashion!

Agree 💯 %. Aside from acting talents he is borne to be a model. So natural in front of the cameras whenever he poses or when he strides on the catwalk.
The slogan “Only The Brave” fits PSH perfectly. PSH’s physique is perfect for any style of grooming yet in his normal days of life he seems to love his T-shirts and jeans, which says he is the type of person whose headspace focus is used on more important issues rather than on dressing up. And so are you, dear Nance. Moreover he has plenty of chance to feature and be dressed up in all sorts of style and grooming, the more on off sceen days, he would choose his comfortable and simple Diesel t shirts and jeans. I am totally thumbs up on PSH’s taste and way of living of how he handled this big department of grooming, style and clothing. He is a celebrity, this department becomes a huge part of any person whose career is in the entertainment industry. Yet he knows how to minimise time, energy, most of all headspace in his off screen days to bang on some casuals and easy comfort that enhance his mood and agility in going about carrying his other important duties. I think this is the other reason we fans (including myself) like PSH so much, that off screen, we feel that he is not too different from us, that comfort and practicality are the reason that drive him to wear what he prefers to be clothed in. Yes, PSH, smart dude you are! I too do not know much about fashion and their names, though personally I have always like to look and fantasize about nice styles and look, without paying attention to brand names, similar to watching K drama, not paying attention to actors’ names.. Your article has enlightened me in terms of what the name Diesel is all about. Thank you for the information. It’s only natural his many lady fans would notice what’s on him the very 1st instance. Living in the country I no longer pay attention to fashion and I like using totebags hand made by local retired ladies. Comfort and practicality are top of my criteria when it comes to clothes/shoes/bags, nevertheless being female I do like to play with assortments when the occassions call for, to me, different dressing up fuel our mood for different occassions, is eye pleasure for others (if done with good taste) is also a personal pride and pleasure to our own self. In a way, it also proved to be mood lifting from the sorrow vibes of the dog’s passing. And I always remember something my mother said when I was very small, that my mother totally approved of my older sister going for all sorts of dresses and style. Those words jolted me as I thought my mother who was a frugal person would not approve spending on clothes. My mother said this wisdom “go for variety of dresses in your youth, otherwise later when you are older, you could no longer reap that kind of joy of looking good wearing different types of nice clothes.” I was surprised those words came out from my mother (that’s in the early 1970s) whose whole life fashion was only one pattern, ie the Chinese chi pao collar top piece with a loose pair of pants that get folded in and held by a belt. Even her pyjamas were of such pattern, yes, with the same Chinese collar!! Once she joined a Buddhist group and they had a uniform the collar was a round neck exposing a little bit of her neck….she agonised many times of that exposed neck and wouldn’t want to go out of the house in that uniform. I had never seen a 2nd pattern worn by my mother. All different fabric and colour for different occassions, but no second pattern. Hands up who in this chat group has never seen another person whose whole lifetime had ever only worn one pattern? Because of my mother’s personal situation and affordability (and her upbringing that her mother instituted onto her that’s the only pattern for her), YET her wisdom of allowing my older sister to experiment and spent on all different clothings (sister spending her own earnings) made a huge impact when I 1st heard my mother’s words, knowing very well that my mother would not disapprove us her daughters to spend money (I am not propagating unwise spending on expensive things), efforts and time in the clothing department. Though by the time I was able to spend my own earnings on clothing my mother had already passed on, but it is her words that had opened my mind. And I owe it to my mother whose approval of such had given me a far more fun and chance to enjoy the beauty and frills of what life can offer. An attribute that wasn’t encouraged in my era, unlike the youthful ladies of today their parents would want to shower plentiful of nice clothes over their beloved daughters. And I had the best time of my advantaged HK living days as you can imagine the name HK and ladies’ wear go hand in hand, the heaven. If you asked me what I had shopped most in my life, it got to be clothings, bags and shoes….yes sinful, but, we only live once,……back to the subject that I like to tempt Dorothy Ooi to think about June Dramatic Festival….you only live once, kekekeke
Long detailed comments from you today and they make thoroughly interesting read!
As it relates to PSH, absolutely share the same observation as you he’s got the perfect physique to look great in any grooming style. That he has this marvellous well proportionate body which he is able to effortlessly use to his advantage in his modelling stints are definitely bonus points for winning so many fans to him. And his good dressing sense has been his enabler in deciding what suits him best in any particular occasion; certainly not falling victim to be dictated by others in what he ought or ought not to wear.
As it relates to your personal story – that which concerns your mum, your sis and you. Very touching and evokes a sense of nostalgia of how my own grandmothers ( paternal and maternal) had no ability to choose what fashion and hairstyles they could adopt, especially when they reached middle age of 40. Always dictated by custom in that era they must be seen in Chinese Amah top in sombre shades of blue or grey paired of with black trousers while the hair got to be combed into a bun. Flat black canvas shoes. No lipstick no make up.
Many thanks for sharing your mother’s wisdom Chai Hua Loke. She sounds so much like my own mother. Frugal and will spend only on what she considers important things in life. I guess it is inevitable that with our upbringing, we share these values. I was just having a conversation with someone the other day saying that I am a lazy shopper. Shopping isn’t my cup of tea. If I have to do it, I will have something in mind and will go for it. And when i see something I like and that suits me, particularly clothes, I will buy it in different colours…saves me a lot of time and effort. I cannot afford to spend hours shopping, and I get bored within half an hour…although fresh marts especially local produce and food shopping, now that is different! 🙂 That was how I ended up starting my career in FMCG! Hahaha!
Park Sihoo-ssi 박시후 씨 That’s a wonderful sharing Nance! My husband absolutely hates shopping, he calls buying a house also a form of shopping. After going around looking at several houses, he spit the dummy and said, that’s it I hate shopping for houses. By then my time’s up had to go back to HK. We bought our house while I was in HK ie I did not get to see it because he refused to look at more houses, though the house we bought (and living in now) was available for viewing while I was in Oz then. 🙂
Dorothy Ooi Thanks Dorothy for your response. Appreciate it.
How you love fresh marts and can spend hours there – that I got to know first hand while we were in Seoul! Haha
Not everyone can wear Diesel style. PSH should be Diesel model!
It is with these detective fans, we have the honor to quickly share the news about Shi Houjun! Themselves, but also adhering to the “for their own is the most important” principle, to experience all aspects of life! People, sometimes, in a state of dull, thought, would like to get from the trivial sublimation! To be brave, to get rid of mediocrity, has a strong appeal! Fashion first, behind the meaning is profound! The pursuit of the process, to share happiness at the same time, there is no light can explain the reasons for heavy, everything is worth it!
You are so right Yung Bin. We who don’t know how to do detective work are so grateful to the sleek detective savvy fans of Sihoo-ssi for all sorts of quick updates on him, the fashion he wears, the gadgets he uses, the food places he has patronises, etc etc. A case of spicing up our otherwise mundane daily routine? 😊
👏
This is what spices up life…no way can anyone be all things to all people and do everything single handedly. So with contributions from everyone, however big or small, we get to know more and each contributing to one another’s happiness 🙂
“Fuelled by Diesel” is quite a striking expression when we are speaking about PSH, this time , as a well dressed person. I’m not an expert in fashion, but what I like at PSH is his good taste, refinement, simplicity, distinction, elegance, personality, originality with what he wears. He can say:”As for my taste, it’s very simple. I am satisfied with the best.” And he looks the best even dressed in a pair of bluejeans and a T-shirt, or a tail coat. There is another aspect that’s worth mentioning:Physical elegance comes from the body, being the way a person finds the keynote of a true elgance:simplicity. As PSH’s elegance is innate, he likes to follow his ideas, and he likes to admire himself and please himself the way he dresses. And so do us! And what we also like is his oneness : about how he wears an outfit, and not about how much it costs . We never confuse PSH’s elegance with snobbery, as his elegance is the manifestation of his independent mind. Yes, in fashion, PSH is “Fuelled by Diesel!”
It is precisely because of who Park Sihoo-ssi is, his stature and charisma, that he can carry himself so well, even dressed in sack! But that makes it even worst for many of us…we feel so dowdy in comparison and especially when we near him! A shiny star and wilted flower…ok, maybe not even the flower but the leaf. Kekeke!
Park Sihoo-ssi 박시후 씨 I know what you mean Nance. A leaf is better for us coz wilted leaf doesn’t look as sad as a wilted flower, kekeke
Driving to work this morning fresh from reading today’s article on PSH by Nance, I too was pondering over the phrase ” Fuelled by Diesel” coined by her. Such a clever striking phrase to describe what is the driving force behind PSH’s casual good looks in his recent pics and videos. In the same car journey my thoughts were on PSH’s innate sense of elegance and fashion which gives him the extra attractiveness few others possess and now I note you have this covered in your comments as well. So we are certainly of same kindred spirit when it comes to things relating to our favourite man!
