What expressive eyes look like!
I came across an entertainment write up a while back about a very popular Korean star. The writer piqued my interest with a headline about how the eyes of the star did everything to showcase cold bloodedness. So I took a closer look at the photo spread. What I saw were dull eyes, no fire, expressionless, where’s the spark of cold bloodedness? Oh, as in the squint?
Of course, I will be the first to raise my hands to say I am totally not objective, absolutely biased! But I know expressive eyes when I see them. And I know exactly who has a pair of the most expressive eyes I have ever seen! And the most amazing thing? They can transform themselves right before your very eyes!
Well honed ability to talk with his eyes
Single lidded, they can be so cold blooded, one look and they send the shivers and chill down your spine. You wouldn’t want to meet those pair of eyes in the dark alley any where, because they will surely strike you dead, without even batting an eye lid!
Just as they are cold blooded, that same pair of expressive eyes can turn mellow or fiery, brimming with emotions. Anger, pain, sorrow, devastation! So convincingly real that you have an urge to reach out in comfort and to try to ease the pain and the burden! Or take a quick step back from being scotched by the blaze of the gaze!
Sizing up a beautiful woman
But what I like most is those expressive eyes that make love to you! Did I say make love? Hmm…good expression. Making love with his eyes – making you love him, making you feel loved! Those eyes, can be the most flirtatious eyes with their come hither look as they size up a pretty woman. But I simply love them transforming from total indifference to the tender discovery of love. Just focusing on the eyes, you can see them change from neutral to warm, sweet tenderness! And of course, the sparkling, twinkle of laughter, joy and wonderful pleasure!
I just love those gorgeously expressive eyes of this most brilliant actor, Park Sihoo-ssi! His eyes tell the story. The most expressive eyes that I have ever seen! Definitely a notch, if not more than those eyes that did everything…but nothing!

前阵子看到一篇文章关于一位非常有人气的韓星。文章的标题激起了我的兴趣，因为记者高举了那位韓星的眼睛，把他们描述为能做到一切，展示出了冷血表情的眼睛。所以我翻开了文章和照片，看看个究竟。所看到的是目光呆滞，无火花，面无表情的演员。冷血的火花在哪？哦，就是那斜视吗？
我会是第一位举起手来说我是完全不客观，绝对偏见的一位！传神，会说话的眼睛？一看就可以认出。也知道哪位演员拥有一双最传神和会说话的眼睛！而最令人惊讶的事情呢？他们在妳的眼前可以一下改变，显示出不同的表情！
Confident eyes
单眼皮，他们可以如此的冷血，一盯着妳看，可以给妳感到一股寒风在你脊椎从上吹到下。妳确对不想在任何黑暗的小巷遇到这双眼睛，因为他们可以面不改色的致妳死地！
正如他们可以是冷血的，同样的那双传神的眼睛，可以变得醇厚火热，充满情感。愤怒，痛苦，悲伤，毒辣！所以真正有说服力，可以让妳有一种冲动，伸出手来安慰，想尽量减轻他的痛苦和负担！或使妳往后退一步，以免被那火热的凝视给烧到！
Soft, mellow eyes full of charm
但我最喜欢的是那传神的眼睛跟妳做爱！我说了做爱吗？嗯…不错的表达法。做爱，他的眼睛可以让妳爱上他，让妳感到被爱！这双眼睛可以以最娇媚的眼神看着妳，看好一位漂亮的女人。但我最喜欢是发觉爱时，从冷漠转变成温柔。只是专注于眼睛，妳就可以看到他们从中性变暖，甜蜜柔情！闪亮发光，感到欢乐和美妙的眼睛！
我只喜欢最辉煌的演员施厚君那双华丽传神的眼睛！他的眼睛肯定是会讲话的。是我所见过的最传神的眼睛！他们绝对是高人一个档次。那记者所说的那对可以做一切的眼睛……根本没得比！

“The eyes are the windows of the soul!” This sentence, there is no mistake! Talking eyes, the reaction of the real, rich, inner state! Has popularity, does not represent can act! Superb acting, limbs, expressions, and so on, all the details, should have! Love, can make a person, become soft! Each person, can not be perfect, no matter, the advantages of the sun, like the shortcomings of the stars, the sun came out, the stars disappear! So, no matter when, love is full of eyes, see, is a perfect!
In total agreement with your insightfully comments which are in response to the beautiful article posted by Nance today. About his expressive eyes. Reflecting on what it is in PSH that could convert me from a zero K star fan to now a K star gazer ( solely PSH!) I would say he has so many attractive qualities both physical and non. But if I am restricted to only name one, I will readily and wholeheartedly say it’s those very very expressive eyes of his. Through those eyes we enter into his playground of dramas and movies as he acts out each role so convincingly that we no longer can differentiate between PSH the actor and the character he is acting out. Such is his brilliance in the field of art and through those eyes we are swept into his world, led to cry when he cries and led to laugh ourselves silly when he turns in yet another goofy moment. Small wonder every scene of the dramas and movies under his belt which features PSH will be analyzed and discussed in-depth amongst his admiring fans over and over again. We just are not having enough of his acting brilliance. And that’s why our eagerness in awaiting his new project. Yes popularity of a star does not equate to him having the talent to act. PSH has the edge – he has unbeatable acting skills over and above being popular.
The only thing that makes an actor is his ability to commit to the character. And when it comes to acting , it’s all in the eyes. PSH cannot lie to the camera, because he feels the emotion internally and this is shown in his eyes . He is the actor who makes us cry with him, who makes us laugh along with him. And definitely he is The Actor, and definitely we love his expressions. He is the actor whose eyes speak like no other. His eyes are so expressive, so deep, so sad, so passionate, so happy, so dreamy, so painful, so loveable, that we want to look in to them forever. Because his eyes are the windows of his soul. Acting is not so easy and it’s not for everybody. Some just want fame and they want to be a star, rather than an actor, a good actor. But if they cannot use their eyes well, they can never become great actors. PSH has stunning eyes, being able to convey his emotions wonderfully through them, even without saying anything. And a scene, from many, comes to my mind, in “Queens of Reversals”, when Goo Yong-shik, played by PSH, met first his natural mother in hospital, and without saying anything, tears in his eyes, conveys his deep sufferings for over 30 years waiting her to come and meet him. And he could make me cry ,together with him.With his large, expressive eyes, whom he can use wonderfully, he has become a tremendous actor, the best K. actor. “The face is a picture of the mind with the eyes as its interpreter.”[ Marcus Tullius Cicero]

Stefania Lupu let me share what I come to know at interaction with a 20 year old male Iranian uni student, this young male fan too specifically mentioned PSH’s meeting up his mother scene in QOR that scene was so sad and leaves vivid impression. The success of PSH’s expressions not only we the older and mature female fans, he touched the young innocent pure male hearts!!
That’s why PSH is not only famous through his expressions revealed in his dramas, but to his ability to commit to his characters.His ability in leaving vivid impression to even a 20 year male student. Not only to “whiny ladies ” like us.

PSH’s expressive eyes have pulled me to him from the beginning. When I don’t understand the Korean and there are no English subs either PSH’s eyes as well as his overall body language make me understand a lot of the story behind in general. He is so great in acting and his eyes add more value to it! 🙂
