Babel: Nam-nam couple

Jolly good show this nam-nam couple! In fact BABEL can boast of a very strong cast each giving a relevant and solid portrayal of his or her character. Bravo!

This Nam Nam couple syndrome, to me, leaves far more depth of feeling of the exchanges between these 2 men, to date, than the CWH & HJW ‘s one to one exchanges. Episode 8 and 9 the emphasis and story attraction almost all centred on Tae Suho and Tae Yura when these 2 roles are lashing out a lot that had been hiding deep inside them, the 2 children from the blood of Mrs Tae, a woman who to date I still have no clue what drove her to behave so inhumanly. I could not remember much of CWH’s scenes in these 2 episodes. Never mind, I am sure being the lead male role, CWH’s moments will dominate many of the remaining air time, and once all the backgrounds reasons and personalities and their motivations are properly featured, then it’s our CWH’s turn to take the centre stage. One more thing to add, when Tae Suho was crying in front of the group of media in some earlier episode, later he asked the legal man if his acting was convincing enough. To be honest, back then when I was watching that crying in front of media scene, I thought he actually was genuinely sorrowful for the demise of his brother the way he cried in public, meaning his crying was driven by real feeling, though he asked the Geosan legal man if his acting was good for the media. Even when he said he was acting, at that scene, I still felt that he only said that to the legal man as a matter of closing that particular dramatic scene, not that he was acting. As it revealed in episode 8, he had never really doubted his younger brother until the moment he jumped the balcony, that means that crying then, was from his heart that he did miss his brother. Tae Suho role, …..was it the Awakening chapter of Babel, such a ironical character, full of twists and interesting stories, his story in Babel has so far fully captivated my interest and curiosity of human psychology. As he now awaken from the brother’s and mother’s both always under the disguise that it is for his good but end of the day, he is the least on their hierachy of importance. His awakening turnaround of behaviour before and after the funeral sends me to guess which way he is going next. But I have no clue at this stage, just as how I said I had no clue which way Tae Yura would fall when she found out that the man she secretly loves has a woman and that woman is HJW. Episode 9 reveals full flavour of what Tae Yura is made of after all, no more benefit of doubt, especially that last scene end of episode 9 the look on her face when she heard the agonised scream from HJW’s housemate. Tae Yura’s face tells me that’s the face of the old Mrs Tae. It’s the same cut from the same material.
