Prosecutor Cha’s relentless probing to uncover the truth
Park Sihoo-ssi’s Prosecutor Cha Woohyuk in TV Chosun drama “Babel 바벨” has found a prime suspect for the murder of chaebol third generation Tae Minho. He made an arrest for Tae Suho, elder brother to Tae Minho.
But, is Tae Suho really the murderer? Or is he a man who has been pushed to the limits and have no idea what to do?
A mama’s boy, he has been sheltered all his life by his domineering mother. She has made it her life ambition to pave the way for her son to be heir to the vast Geosan empire and has brainwashed him to think as such. And like his mother, he displayed huge arrogance publicly. However, being a weakling, the pressure of taking on a role too big for him must have pushed him to the limits that he resorted to drugs to keep reality at bay.
Mama’s boy pushed to the limits
Being challenged by his younger, illegitimate brother as heir and finding out his wife having an affair with him, he must have reached his limits. Could he have lashed out and killed?
Or is he just a pathetic man-boy who is awed by little things, even the first fall of snow? Or maybe so down by the cold turkey treatment of no drugs while under detention that he simply “flew” towards release, oblivious that he was stories above ground?

Tae Suho and Tae Minho – their behavior and character are strongly influenced by bad role models – their Parents!

Well, after watching episode 5, all I can say is up til this point, the only transparent character is this eldest son. He is what he is as we all see, there is not much need to guess how much else is in his mind. Although drugs could have forced him into some behaviour but fundamentally, there is nothing much he does that actually yield results, be it the positive or negative results, what I meant is his negative results is nothing when compared to the degree of real negative results his mum intended. I must say the actor has done very well in acting out that pathetic character. I also like seeing his petite wife’s, the actress too has done well for that role. Oh yes, the childhood scene where this eldest son is a dog lover, I interpret that to mean he is not a bad person to begin with.
