The Prince became a pauper was the life reversal we are seeing in KBS drama “My Golden Life”.
Park Sihoo-ssi’s Choi Dokyung was a prince, heir apparent to a rich and power chaebol empire. The Haesung conglomerate has multiple lines of successful businesses from shipping to hotels to food and beverage in different geographies around the world. He had everything planned for him since birth, the prince in waiting to succeed and continue the kingdom his maternal grandfather had built.
For 33 years of his life he has been under the thumbs of his parents and grandfather. The obedient and respectful son and grandson, working hard and falling in with their plans, never giving them any cause for concern. His path has been smooth with no surprises.
However, his princely life changed when he met his match in one who grew up entirely opposite in life. One who had to live her life from hand to mouth, struggling and being challenged at every step. One who had no idea what life would turn out at every corner.
This made him reflect on what he really wanted out of life. And the prince decided he wanted to have a hand in running his, to have no one dictate his work, his love and his life!
So he chose to go independent and to start from scratch. The prince became a pauper! No money, no roof over his head, having to do physical work to earn his keep!
Can he rise from pauper to prince again? This time on his own, no reliance on his Haesung legacy, proving his worth beyond all doubt?
So far, so good from what I can see. Our Oppa Choi is made of much sterner stuff than what most thought. From his maternal grandfather, to his parents, to his friend Kim Kijae, his friend Lee Yongguk, to Hyuk and even surprisingly, Seo Jian!
Fighting, Oppa! We want see you rise again, just like Park Sihoo-ssi!
