We have often heard how men covet their cars, to the extent that they consider them their “wives” or “mistresses”! Especially when their cars are flashy sports models and in eye-catching colours like a provocative red! Many would treat their cars better than they would their wives, lavishing them with that extra love, care and attention!
It was a nice red sports car model that we saw Park Sihoo-ssi being photographed with while he was in Ishiwada Japan. Red and him, they complement each other. They make each other look good, don’t they?
Park Sihoo-ssi is currently single, that much we know, so no wife. Not even a girlfriend in sight. Nah, we have not heard of one nor have we seen him with one, even though we hope! 😄
So, anyone would hazard a guess as to how he would treat his wife and his car?
Me? I don’t see him as a car man. He would go more for a practical A to B, serve its purpose vehicle. If he were into cars, a sports car may not be his choice. An all terrain SUV that fits into his lifestyle and his hobbies more likely than a conspicuous head-turner. A vehicle which he could go hiking and rough it out in the woods, mountain or beach, and have his surfboard and camping gear mounted overhead. Like the hummer he was featured with in an issue in last year’s Enishi magazine. Now, this strong and tough outdoor man is much more my kind of a man!
So him and Red? Maybe a short fling, but long term chemistry and interest? Nah! Hahaha! 😄

Ahaha! I currently own a true red Mazda 3! First time red as choice of colour for my car and at my age too! Goes to say never too late to go for a change! And perhaps PsH places practical functionality above all other reasons for car choice but no one can deny the fact he really looks good in that sizzling Mazda sports model! Sizzling hot!
I was waiting for you to share your current red car story Dorothy! Great choice as red car makes the lady driving it looks more attractive, that’s my opinion. Or perhaps that perception imprinted in me after my mentor told me his view of my red car. PSH in floral top in that chillie red sports car, ultimate attractive picture of the combination of a human being and a red car.
Chai Hua Loke I was really hesitant going for red 3 years ago. I had a light brown CX5 in mind but fell head over heels when I sighted the gorgeous Mazda 3 in brilliant red. Agree it ( not me ) attracts lots more attention and respect. So I am now known as the lady in red ( 🚗 not 💃👠🌹). Friends with interest to buy a similar are disappointed, cos hard to get the same red, and long waiting list for any red variance.
Car makers should come here to gather their market research statistics
That’s a very interesting subject Nance, so far we haven’t touched about this topic about PSH and sports car. Going by the way he lives, we may guess his interest is not much into sports car, but, very hard to say, he might have this interest, just not the time of his life to indulge into this hobby is my guess. What we have seen are his practical side of life….don’t know, but my gut says to me I think he too is a man who likes sports car. And the subject of colour red, indeed when the colour is red, it brings extra attention to the eyes of others. My 1st 2 cars were red, chillie red. And my older mentor made a comment that my red car was surely eye catching, and this is a man who is least interested in cars and fashion, he is the nearest human to Buddha as far as I know, yet, one day he couldn’t refrain from expressing that comment, goes to show how far the colour red added to the subject of cars. I have since lived my days with red cars, that’s considered ticked and done suddenly red cars don’t attract me nowadays. Age plays a factor in my case. 🙂
Believe it or not, my first car was chili red too! A Suzuki Swift that brought me everywhere including into semi rough terrains of the less trodden. Those were the days of being young and reckless.
My 1st car was a red Mazda hatchback with a sunroof. 2nd car Honda Civic even reder than the 1st red, or maybe new paint looked more red hahaha. Then when I moved to HK, I took a different philosophy not to be too eye catching being single lady living in HK, moreover it was a company car so I chose a maroon red.
Mi estrella q me alumbra a mi corazón
PSH may have sides we are not aware of. We do know he is a passionate man in everything he does. Bright red is the color of passion. So it goes well with PSH. A sports car may not always be very practical, but it sure is flashy and emphasizes PSH’s Hallyu Star Status!
Ok I just wrapped up work and back to check out this page here…..the words “sports car” and “red” I thought should attract lots of talking points even on their own, now add on to our gorgeous man PSH, this should be a red hot topic for the day. It is indeed too attractive to look at PSH in that flashy red sports car again and again, those are yummy delicious photos hahaha. Personally I am oblivious about cars, especially nowadays , my priority given to what constitute quality of life ; cars is the bottom of the list of importance, because again, as an accountant, cars, to me is the worst thing to spend money on, they depreciate fast and expensive and nice cars should receive the least importance for ordinary household spending, my view. Work colleagues often gave me that bizzare look whenever rain poured and I said yay my car get washed, otherwise, my car will never get any special wash. Save my energy time and those most precious scarce supply of water in our dry country. Then I would amazed these bewildered faces by adding “hey, look, when I was in HK, my car get washed everyday because in HK there are people going around in the car park washing cars everyday so I joined in to subscribe the services, but here in this country, there is no need to wash my car at all, and I carry my dog in my car a lot of the times… The other story I have about cars is that I often wear driving gloves to protect my hands from the strong Australian UV sun. One day some youngsters driving some loud noisy sporty looking cars speed up from behind me and running parallel with me on a slow lane and shouted loudly towards me said “” hey you! You drive THIS car (as my car is old , dirty and run down) but wear white gloves!!!???””” Guess what? I immediately replied to these youngsters (who I sort of know but not very well, knowing they don’t mean harm), I said ” YES!! EAT YOUR HEART OUT!”” Good for a laugh? Of course to people who like cars, their view is very different, must spend on their dream car. Once a person who I know from work striked lottery of several hundred thousands AUD$, and this person spent 25% of the winnings on just a nice car. I thought that’s not something I would do, if I strike many millions of $ , yes, can go splurge on cars, but when it is only several hundred thousands AUD and the person isn’t rich why go spend on cars. Another ardent crazy cars friend on their holiday to Tasmania (the island where Danish Princess Mary’s hometown), fell in love of a 2nd hand Porsche bought it instantaneously, and drove their beloved toy back and ditched the return air ticket. So which category are you ladies when it comes to the importance of cars?
I do have my driving licence (I was annoyed of my friends some 35+? years ago, who kept saying everyone needed to have a driving licence!), but I don’t have a car and don’t like driving a car at all! I am really doubting to renew my driving licence somewhere in 2018! Friends try to talk that out of my head “Because you never know”. I am more for the practical instead of the flashy ones. A car would certainly not be my measurement whether or not I would befriend with someone! It can be easy to get you to places whenever you are living in a remote environment. I think that would be the only reason I would rethink making use of my driving licence and/or renew it!
Wilma van Zwietering I am sure when the time comes you will know if you want to renew the licence. Your inner voice will tell you. I do not like driving either but a car is our legs living in our spread out big land Down Under.
Chai Hua Loke You ‘re probably right. Lately I’m reading and receiving a lot of messages I should listen to my inner voice, don’t let the rational voice take over, have faith, don’t doubt, be patient and just do when my inner voice tells meto and don’t question. I don’t consider myself as someone who wants to be in control of everything, but all these messages tell me the opposite!
And Dorothy Ooi, I just looked up Mazda 3 a red model, I think that red is so alike the red sports car PSH was driving. My Honda red in the 90s wasn’t that metalic red, it was solid chillie red. Today improved colour even the red today is much nicer than my non metalic solid chillie red. Thumbs up on your choice, which also means PSH’s team who chose the idea of that car for him. Or was it him who personally chosen it, I don’t know……
It is difficult to explain why different
It is difficult to explain why different people like different things , especially things you don’t like. That’s why personal preferences are not debatable. As in the saying:”De gustibus non est disputandum”, or “In matters of taste , there can be no disputes.” Skiping over this saying today, just to say what can be PSH’s choice for the color of his car, I consider two aspects: 1. as a young person , he may like sports cars, in red; 2. as a practical and distinguished one,he may like dark, black ones. His preferences being arbitrary , they may say who he truly is. Speaking of the color of a car, we may say that: the color of your car says about your personality , expresses how you want the world think about you. If PSH chooses a red car, which suits him so well, this means that he wants to say to the world that :”he has something impressive to show you.”, as Marcie Cooperman, a professor of color theory , at New School for Design in NY, says. Red color being chosen by “those who have a zest of life, who are mostly ambitious and determined to get all they can out of life.” If PSH chooses a blue car, a dark blue Hummer, as he already has, :” his car acts as a bit of sunny sky on a grey and bleak highway. This car suits to a compassionate , optimistic, stable, honest and seren person” , as PSH really is. If PSH chooses a black car, as I’ve seen him in , many times, this is the color of luxury and sophistication. In such a black car he looks dignified and striking, giving the appearance of mystery, but longing for more depth in his life. He looks always timeless, important and in control. “Black is a power color, for sure.” says prof. Cooperman. Do all these colors match PSH’s personality? I think, they do. And I also think that PSH is one-of-a- kind, who prefers to focus on the quality, make and model of his car, as he loves his car as much as he likes making everything completely of his own.
Really enjoyed reading your piece today Stefania Lupu. And i can feel the theory as you cited the personalities in relation to the colour of red deep blue and black. I’d say all 3 colours can be PSH’s choice of his car depending on the time of his life. Because I can see myself having different preference of colour at different phase of my life. My current car is deep blue.
Thanks Chai Hua, and I enjoyed yours. Yes, preferences for a car, and its color depend on the period of our life. In my youth, around 3o, we, my husband andI had a two-door Ford, red color. Later as seniors, we changed it with a Blue Toyota. Now, as I’m single, I have none. But a have a chauffeur who drives me where I want to go. As for PSH, I like him in any color of his cars, he likes to drive.
Excellent interesting comments from you Stefania. And now I know at least 4 this sisterhood have at one phase/stage in our life owned one or more red cars! I have always thought white is the perennial favourite colour for car owners in the west ( think there was a survey ) because it’s a cool
colour. I have never opted for white somehow ….
White is solely for safety reason as in our climate and flat landscape especially in dusk and dawn the colour white is said to be easier to be spotted especially against horizontal sunray that shines direct into your vision. The other reason (to me) white colour we don’t see the dust so perfect for lazy people like me.
Thanks Dorothy!
